Has anyone else watched this program? I watched it when it was first shown on the abc (in the early to mid 1990s) and I am now watching it on dvd. Very funny.

My all time favourite british comedy (well up there with The Fast Show and Father Ted)

Simply brilliant :D

I love this show - it is a forgotten classic.

One of the funniest Brittas scenes was when he went into a weight loss class for overweight women, and was saying to them how much he admired them for admitting that they had an obesity problem, and that he wished them all the best as they strived to become "just like us normal people".

Another good one was when he and his nervous wife were going to a formal dinner; Brittas walks in wearing a tuxedo and asks his wife, who is wearing an evening gown, why she hadn't changed yet, and that he had thought she was going to wear something special that evening.

I used to really like that show. Did he ever end up getting together with Laura? I seem to recall a couple of storylines pointing in that direction.

The Brittas Empire, Red Dwarf and Drop The Dead Donkey are my three favourite British Comedies and they are all from around the same period, the early to mid 90's.
