Of course but theres nothing to suggest that the players will be worried about the media. Yeah they will know that their not performing. The players were under a bit of that last year and end up coming out of it pretty well with a few good performances.
We need to get the job done tomorrow. It would be a great tonic ahead of some tough games.

Carlton and Collingwood meet with both clubs searching for their first win of the year under a Friday night spotlight he said provided “a fantastic learning opportunity” for his side.

“Pressure is part of the landscape. Every week there’s an element of pressure,” Bolton said.

“Our players, this whole year is going to stay the same. We’ve got to build synergy and chemistry because they haven’t been together a lot. We’re still learning and building.”

“I’m not here to talk about ‘Bucks’ (Nathan Buckley), but it’s only Round 2. We can quickly ... catastrophise things. Pressure is something that can be manufactured very quickly and we’ve just got to temper that a little bit, I would have thought.”
Bolton is under very little pressure.

Bolton is under very little pressure.

Bucks has been under pressure his whole career jmac70.........this year is no different that was my point.

What does the club gain by sacking their coach after Round 3?
How can Buckley remain at the helm if a public announcement has been made on his future?

You sir are delusional.

If we lose and see no sign of improvement and there is no optimism the only way to appease the nasty posters that Jmac was talking about is to oust the coach give the fans some idea that there'll be change.

I never suggested that should happen to achieve what jmac wishes. I was merely pointing the only way to cease discussion from nasty posters is on field optimism (massive sustained improvement) or move the coach on.

Maybe you should read the post 1st before claiming someone disillusioned.

You sir have not done your homework.;)

We're not sacking a coach mid season ffs. Get over it.

You didn't read the post I replied to did you? I'm not for one second suggesting we move him on mid season I merely pointed out that to stop these nasty posters that Jmac is talking about the only way to do so is A/ from now on have an unrealistic improvement consistently on field or B/ Move the coach on

Or how about just ignore them.

He has indeed, and he has always coped with it incredibly well. That’s one of the reasons he is a true legend of our club.

Over the next few weeks though he will be tested like never before.

I am surprised, and somewhat disappointed, that Buckley was kept on as coach last season, but can also why all our "almost good enough" games/seasons, in combination with injuries, was enough to give the Board optimism.

I also think that Bucks' gameplan is one that suits finals footy, and could be succesful if we made it that far - just that our players havent been good enough to maintain it for long enough (usually not even for 4 quarters) and that Bucks hasnt shown the ability to implement a plan B when things aren't working, or when the focus drops that 5% that leads to the defensive holes opening up very quickly.

I don’t think any of our posters are nasty. I just think it’s time this discussion remained on topic because some turbulent times are quite probably coming. If Bucks does end up going we need it to be dignified.

Couldn't agree more, and maybe a little overzealous with the nasty label. I maintain there are limited but obvious ways to end the division and the off topic tangents or the "discussion" which is out our control of course.

The stupidest coach in the afl. We saw last week that we were able to score and move the ball freely with one and sometimes No KPF. Yet, he decided to bring in 2 blokes who couldn’t tie their shoes up.

He needs to go. This shows arrogance and inability to adapt to contemporary football.

Unless Reid plays back.

That's not politically correct..

Then we’ll have the tallest backline, and have 0 drive out of defensive 50.
You might well be right, I’ll wait to see how it plays out. Just want to get the win.
