Finally some media notice his efforts. On form, he is one of the best HFs in the comp at the moment.

When ever i see us play i'm always amazed at just how hard this man goes. 110% every contest. His work off the ball is amazing too - there is never an occassion where Wiggo is not leading for a grab.

He is absolutely vital in setting up our forward play.

Well done Wiggo!

A great write up for the 'Chief'

I hope he doesn't read it but, as we don't need our players getting big headed and believing their own publicity.

The old adage that hard work is rewarded is certainly true for Wiggins. Just goes to show you have to preserver with some blokes until they click.

It's pretty clear to see that his teammates think the world of him. That speaks volumes for the man.

Wiggins' problem is his dodgy kicking, but as one club forward scout said yesterday, the Blues have a plan for that.
"When he marks it, he always gives off. Invariably there are runners going past," the scout said.

His field kicking isn't actually all that bad.

Nice read, and interesting stats.

I'm a big Wiggo fan, but geez I wish he could kick straight at the goals.:(

The chief is a serious asset to this club. His marking skills on the lead are second to none. He bleeds carlton and deserves to be in the team as we are coming good.

tis a great read if you are an opposition coach

Thanks Mark Stevens for very publically outing Wiggo's strengths and weaknesses

Yes, i'm sure the 6 or so coaches at every club plus the scouts had not noticed what his strenghts are yet..

fantastic. always been a fan of wiggo. sure his kicking for goal from set shots needs some work, but he's always had a great set of hands on him.

for some reason or another last year we tried to use eddie betts in the same roll, but he's a small forward and he's proven his worth this season as a small forward.

its great to see wiggo step up into the roll that i was left scratching my head over at the end of last season.

keep up the good work chief.

Probably almost in the top 5 in our B&F indicative of how good he's been so far for us. Just like to see Houlihan continue to loiter nearby whenever he marks inside 50.

Part of the reason I canceled my subscription to the HUN is their increasingly poor, untruthful and often inaccurate sports reporting.

I have always loved the wiggler!

Hardest player in the comp!

He squeezed into the team ahead of fish this year and has really taken his opportunity!

Has some of the stickiest hands going around and just keeps presenting.

Very valuable player.

To a certain extent yes, but you have to be honest - he's very much a poor man's ROK. His kicking lets him down badly.

Goal kicking yes. But his field kicking is generally good, as has been mentioned.

Let's face it - Wiggins is Carlton. I wouldn't be as concerned about the result every week as long as everyone put in as much effort as Wiggo does - week in, week out.

Love what this guy said. Not sure if he is Carlton but 100% agree that I wish his attitude was Carlton. If each player had Wiggo's determination I beleive that Carlton would give the flag a shake even this year.

I'm not trying to hang shit on him. He's made himself an important player in our forward structure. His attitude is fantastic. He's a nutcase. A desperado. An escaped mental patient.

But his kicking for goal is disgusting. Sickening. A bad joke made in bad taste at the wrong time with poor delivery by a poor joke-teller.

The 1st part of my post wasn't directed at you. It was a general comment.

You said his kicking lets him down badly. in front of goal (as i said) i agree. He's shocking. However, his field kicking is generally good.

Fair enough.

I actually just walk away from the tv now whenever he's having a shot at goal. Thankfully we've got Houla and Eddie to kick the goals that no-one should be able to kick to offset the goals Wiggo misses that no-one should be able to miss.

If Wiggo could get his goal-kicking sorted he'd be one of the best medium-sized forwards in the AFL.
