Well, with Maysie resigning as head of the players association one of the last opponents to India's total decimation of the game goes.

The crooked BCCI can appoint their own stooge.

Looks like Operation Mushtaq is in full swing

Cricket Australia (CA) advises that leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed will join the Australia A squad for the remainder of its VB Tour of the British Isles.

In making this decision, National Selection Panel Chairman John Inverarity said: “We are pleased to be able to provide emerging cricketers with an opportunity to show their abilities.
"Fawad is a spin bowler of interest and we look forward to seeing how he performs for Australia A.”

Fawad Ahmed said of his selection: “I am very happy. It is a great opportunity for me to prove myself for Australia A in overseas conditions.

“I am grateful to Cricket Australia and the National Selection Panel for this chance, and I will do my best to repay their faith in me.”

Yesterday, a Bill to amend the Citizenship Act passed through the House of Representatives without amendment, and without the need for a vote. While the Bill will still need to progress through the Senate, this has given CA confidence that there is enough support for this Bill to soon become law.

Pretty insipid effort in the Champions Trophy over night. According to Cricinfo "the last trinket in our cabinet" and now that's gone.

Inverarity rules out Ponting Ashes comeback

Australia would not turn to retired batsmen such as Ricky Ponting or Simon Katich even if captain Michael Clarke's back problem continues to plague him during the Ashes, according to national selector John Inverarity. Clarke has been out of action since arriving in England and could miss the whole of the Champions Trophy, while his readiness for the Ashes is also looming as a potential concern.
Meanwhile, Ponting has made a strong start to his county stint with Surrey, scoring 192, 52 and 38 not out in his three first-class innings so far. Before his first match, Ponting said in an interview that if the Australians came calling during the Ashes he would consider coming out of retirement, although the next day he backtracked and said there was no possibility of him being part of the Ashes campaign.

Watson Out... we are a good side.....

On the issue of Warner, I would have no problem sending him home from the Ashes. He should be concentrating on his form instead of getting in drunken fights with English players. Dumb

It really 'aint a good side is it?

Voges has a great record so far in ODIs for Australia. Delivered again tonight.

Doherty needs to bowl well. Pitch looked slowish. Will suit Clinton Mckay

Slowly but surely, cricket is becoming dead to me. Its like the players could not even care less. No offense to Voges but no way should he be in our national team. Good on him for standing up when called upon but the more talented players out there should be preventing him from getting a look in if they had showed as much will to win.

Being crap is one thing, putting up with over-paid couldn't-give-a-frack cricketers who would prefer to play in some meaningless IPL Game over tests annoy me most. I mean Warner, a big talent, been given the shot at a test spot purely on his talent and the paucity of the competition around him, but seems to be doing his best to throw it all away.

Think Australia is weak... have a look at our A side.
