well i was just reading the eagles post regarding the derby so i thought we betta get our opinions in

this is how i see it

i think saturday nights game is going to be to close to call i have both team lists here with me so

up in our forward line modra will be on fire and with extra options of waterhouse koops pavlich and schell i don't think they can match up with the brilliance in marking styles of clive schell pavo and koopsy they will only have the option of picking up the scraps that we drop not that we will drop any

justin in the ruck i'm worried and i aint lying gardiner is really good in the ruck so i'm hoping he will tap down to belly cook and macca

parker bandy carr jones and black ummmm i don't know wat to say bout this with wilson we need a tall fast and strong player put jones on cummings he will win the running and marking battle if he doesn't let cummings get away and with carr being our best on ground against hawthorn i say put him on phil matera

i think it will be the ceter battles that will decide the game we are strong in that area but so are they and i am just getting a bit worried about that

i'm also worried about metro i think he will play ok if he gets to play after that stupid thing he done that resulted in the hawks getting another goal fewster should be close to coming back

1st i aint happy bout saying
brown as much as i love him i hope he doesn't play his performance on sunday was shocking but with the weather as bad as it was he may just have been suffering from that and i hope for his sake he does have a brilliant game if he plays i recon he will but
2nd has every one heard that "We Are Dockers" song i luv it some of the lirics they say in it are true but 1 part i think is true is the part about matty pavlich i think he is just as good as james hird if not better
any wayz thats my long and boring (hehehehehe) analysis of how i think our team will go

anywayz i think freo by a goal maybe

i don't sound too confident but i spose it is better than being over confident like the eagle

This game will definately be a close one. Both are pretty evenly matched, with both having good forward lines and both having questionable backlines, which can go really well sometimes and bad other times. I reckon that the game will be won in the midfield. Whoever wins in there will win the game!

Its going to be a great game, Im really lookin forward to it. It'll be good to see how Wilson plays and who lines up on him, Jones maybe??

I can't see us making to many changes to the team this week. Based on what I saw at the derby Prescott deserves to be recalled. He played well, Schell took some strong marks but his inability to kick goals means (in my opinion) he wont get a game.

Does anyone know how Fewster and Longmuir played?

I have no idea who is going to win, its just to hard to call. Freo by a point would be great!!

Balip, would Jones be able to match Wilson strength wise? Wilson has been claiming he's going to break open a pack sooner or later this season and I've got a feeling this derby it could happen, and someone could get hurt. I was thinking Metro would be the first choice to go with Wilson - to match him also in speed.

Considering her is your only avenue to goals at center half forward.I think we will be able to match up on him quiet well.

The question is will you be able to contrain waterhouse,pavlich and modra.
As well as stop Fremantles strong mid field.

Going from our games so far, Willo is no where near our only avenue to goal. Last week Gardiner played really well at CHF and set up a few goals. Merenda bagged 3, including a absolute belter when he played half forward, and we have used others on the opposite half forward and it has been successful. How will you stop Cummings, Phil Matera, Wilson, Merrenda, Gardiner with your backline. All are experienced, Willo no so much AFL wise, and all know how to kick goals. With our midfiled, we are well and truly in the same league as yours. So far this season, yours hasn't performed as well as it should. You have A.Fletcher, who is a high quality player, P.Bell, who you managed to grab, played excellent for the roos but is yet to show this same form for you. In the ruck you play Longmuir, who may not even be fit to play, and if he does will have to take on an in form and fully fit Gardiner, and a young but talented in form Cox. We then have Kempy, pure champion, Cous, starting to come off age well and C Fletch, who is going to be really good as well, and is starting to show it this year. Then we have Wirrapunda who sometimes playes on ball, and Morrison on the Wing. Not too bad I would think. Dockers are not a class above us, probably in the same class, but I think we have a bit more depth in the area. Up forward you have a struggling player in Mods, but who is still bagging goals for you, shows you how good he must be when he's in form. Waterhouse, who isn't fully fit and not in form, and Pavlich, who I agree will be a great player, but isn't that good presently, plays good patches now and then. To match up on them we have the likes of an in form McIntosh, PeMatera and Wirrapunda, We have Jako, who is starting to show some good footy. This game will be an absolute screamer to watch, can't wait to see it

waterhouse is definately gonna be a handfull
he basicly got us the game last year with a brilliant second half
mods isnt way past his best he is one of those players that you don't know how they are gonna play until the day and if he starts on fire he will definately finish on fire
pavlich is a brilliant player almost as good as hird and i'm thinking maybe we need him in defence to stop wilson i mean he was deffinately best on ground against port last year basicly shuting down one of ports stars and hopefully he will play great on saturday night
if longmuir does play i think he will play pretty good he has played some pretty good games so far
and even if longmuir and waterhouse both don't play unlike the eagles we can cover those players

Well I never would have thought it after Sunday but I am actually excited about goin to the derby on Sat. Personally I think the game will be reasonably close but with the dockers winning. I just reckon the dockers will push ahead with more grunt out in the clinches.

Sabre_ac - We are easily in the same league when it comes to midfielders. Kemp and Cousins are both better midfielders than any of your guys. You just have a bit of depth, Cook, Fletcher, Haselby, Black and Bell are all very good. Whereas we have Cousins and Kemp followed by Banfield Fletcher Kerr and Morrison and Wirrpunda or even Petera Matera could get runs on the ball.

This is where we will win the match with Gardiner and Cox dominating the ruck and our midfielders feeding it into a pretty good forward line.

longmuir and waterhouse were both named in the squad so we will just have to wait and see
but 1 thing i can say is koopsy aint playing so use are lucky there
but shipp is playing and he should be at his best form giving us another forward option
i know i said pavo is almost as good as james hird wat i meant by that is he is a great player and one day will be as good as james hird he'll take like 1-2 more years to mature and he will be brilliant

oh yeah and i'd just luv to thank u eagle supporters for coming in here giving me a laugh and just making our board that little bit more exciting
