I reckon this year might be a bit of a blessing in disguise for you guys in the future. You still have a quality young list, but will do as well as anyone in the draft this year with Hawkins and pick 7 i think. Could be 2 really good players who might make the difference in September a few years down the track.

Also would you consider trading the 1st round pick for a quality player (a disgruntled lion with Blonde hair maybe) in a bid to up the flag hances in the next few years or is it better to invest in the future.

There's no chance they'll trade their first rounder for Akermanis. If fact, it's highly unlikely they'll trade it for anyone.

Don't think any club will give up a first round this year, particularly one as high as 7.

I'd trade it for 3 picks inside 20-30. but not for aker.

Aker is a great player, or should I say was, however he is no where near a first round pick. Bradshaw on the otherhand maybe, but we are lucky to get Hawkins, who will be better than Bradshaw, given time of course.

So what we really need is a pacy midfielder with skills. This can be achieved for sure, but we definitely will not require the services of Aker.

Akermanis is in no way worth a top 10 pick at age 30. Let the dogs have him.
