according to Schoey on the podcast, that was a shank off the in-step of the boot and was pure luck to land in the hands of vardy.Everyone talks about McGovern's mark but it was actually pretty regulation. The kick, though, to Vardy was centimetre perfect. He hit him in the middle of four Collingwood players. Under the circumstances, I reckon that was actually more impressive than coming over the top to take the intercept mark. He's just landed and pulled the trigger and hit the guy 40 metres away lace out. The Collingwood players didn't even have time to crash in and try to spoil. That kick was exquisite.
Sounds like a wind-up.according to Schoey on the podcast, that was a shank off the in-step of the boot and was pure luck to land in the hands of vardy.
i personally dont believe this because this was actually the 3rd or 4th time in the game Turbo had kicked a perfect checked kick in heavy traffic.
Not even close. The gubnor's kicking is generally bloody good. He's not scared to play on and pull the trigger on a risky kick into the corridor and nails 9 out of 10. I'd rather 15 kicks from him than 25 from Gaffy
Yeah nah mate Gaff on the wing in space (21 uncontested possessions a game) chipping it to a marking contest around 50 is neither here nor there. It's just a possession and he wasn't really missed in the finals. If Gaff had to clear the press with a high risk attacking kick through the corridor like the half backs do he'd be turning it over far more often than his current 2.4 clangers a game, which is a slightly worse than McGovern. Not even close.
I'd take Gaff's kicks by far. Gov wastes every fifth or sixth kick. As was stated in one of the youtube videos by his teammates, he's the 'worst good kick' there is.
