read in the paper today mark philipoussis has signed himself up for a seniors tournament in athens, alongside the likes of cash, sampras, courier, wilander, krajicek and todd martin. supposedly a springboard for a ressurrection, this may well backfire on pooey and he might end up losing to these older chaps, or worse re-injuring himself, possibly ending his career for good. i hope not, though. i'm probably one of very few tennis fans who still love mark.

What are you on about? He wants to get some tennis and the best way without affecting his rankings is play this tournament!

if he gets embarrassed by losing to chaps much older than he, he should hesitate before returning to the challenger circuit or playing another seniors tournament. its no secret that his best is behind him, so this may well spell the end of his career. he's the first player to be a part of the ATP tour and the seniors tour at once, and maybe there's a reason for that.

i fear that the poo, sadly, is finished. will continue in the seniors tour alone until his knee finally gives way and his shin falls off completely, and compete in wheelchair tennis at the london paralympics.

let's pour all our hopes now upon the youth crop coming through the next few years. couple of blokes i think fairly high up in junior ranks lately, let's hope that translates to an alright ranking on the ATP tour.
