I understand what your saying. However say for example we play either Collingwood or Port Adelaide. The match-ups with King in the side would looks something like:

Port Adelaide
Carlise -> Riewoldt
Trengrove -> Vickery
Jonas loose man in defence

Collingwood
Keefe -> Riewoldt
Brown -> Vickery
Maxell loose man in defence

If McGuane plays it frees up Riewoldt contesting with two 192cm+ players every time the ball comes his way
If we're going with a third tall up forward I'd prefer it be Astbury than McGuane.

Regardless of the tall situation, King must play when fit, so he has to come in. I personally just couldn't drop Vlastuin.

I've just been mucking around with the ladder predictor & realised if we win all 4 games (which we should start favourite in the next 3 & a chance in the last against the bummers) & Sydney loose 3/4 - Pies (h), Saints (h), Cats (a) & Hawks, (h), we can still make top 4.
Highly unlikely but not out of the question... ;)

I agree that King has to play. However you can't deny that McGuane has been a good avenue to goal this year. He has kicked 16 goals from 10 game and has only been goalless once. He is a genuine target up forward that opposition coaches know they have to mark. If Astbury was to go forward, they wouldn't have the same mindset. Plus, Astbury has played back all year. He needs to stop moving around.

DG, couldn't agree more regarding Astbury. Needs to find a spot in the backline and make it his own.

This week is a danger game. Lions are a decent side and have shown they can beat good teams this year.
Carlton will be playing for their season the following weekend.
Giants up there will be tougher than many think.
We will smash Essendon in the final round.

We can win all four. We still need one more win to ensure we play finals and that will happen.
Why so confident against Essendon? They tore us a new one earlier on in the year

I reckon we'll win all 4. We always seem to even the ledger with essendon every season. They fall off towards end of every season. I'd say a 6 goal win. We need to take care of Brisbane first. We match up well on them and should win well.
Should beat GWS although they'll be competitive and the blues are a bit of a rabble and were shown up by Freo

Watch Sydney pull Collingwood's pants down tonight and you'll have to do the predictor again. ;)

Notice that AFL website has
'shaky Tigers stumble past Lions' sneaking in for 23 pt win, and
'Cats cruise as Port teeters' for a huge 25 pt win

The 2nd half was pretty hard to watch, but dominant 1st half.
Reckon we had the run of the umps again for the first half, just shocking how much sht we used to get from them.

Next week v blues
They might still have a sniff of finals hope, th looks like Doggies home, they will have to play for pride v upstart big four club, that's us, another test from the not good enough s

GWS...

Dons. Winnable.
