While I reckon we are a shot at going back-to-back, I was a little startled by this quote from Cook in the age this morning
''We didn't want a coach who didn't think we could make the grand final this year,'' said Cook. ''But we also wanted someone who could demonstrate he could lead the rebuilding of the list to make a big impression again by 2015-2016.

Reading between the lines, the club is expecting to drop off for two or three years

I will be interested to see what retirements come out of this.

There is absolutely no reason why we cannot give it a shake again next year.

A lot will depend on how many of the players go next year being a year older. Even with Mooney and if Milburn retire, they were not in our best 22 today (or for the finals). Maybe Ling and Ottens. Two players retiring from our best 22 won't have a huge impact (although both are very important players).

I'm surprised that Brian Cook was thinking of the rebuild when looking for a coach. Sure you may have lost Ablett but you proved you could do it without him. And you may have unearthed young stars with Menzel, Duncan, Christensen, Vardy etc.

Podsiadly still has one more year at least you would think, along with Scarlett, Corey, Chapman and Enright. Selwood and Hawkins are just entering their prime. Barte, Kelly and SJ still have years to give.

I think your lot have the premiership window open for more than just next year.
