This isnt the opening game I imagined, I thought we would be able to run with the ball and hit targets.. this is ridiculous.. where is this new 'attacking 16 goal per game' game plan? did the team actually work on skills over the preseason? or just watch video 'step-by-step' tutorials on how to kick? :confused:
 
I think we all have to realise that we only have 3 new players compaired to last year.

But yes, we are playing ******** and we need hit targets.
 
Hmmm yes, 64pts down at 3Q time... I've only got the web-radio feed to 3AW to go by, but I really would have thought that they'd be a bit more of a showing! Brownie kicks the first goal of the 4th Q, bout time he's done something... I wonder how many of the senoir squad this loss really falls on?

Does Wallace know who to play where? He seems to be using this game as a coaches training drill... Geelong seem to be able to create mis-matches and drag players out of position constantly. Brownie with his 3rd - a return finally!

*sighs* I had hoped for a better start for the Tigers, but it certainly doesn't seem that they have worked on their skills as much as there ability to run around after the ball...
 
I now just hope that they play the full game out... and not just fold. I'd hate for the Tigs to drop to the bottom after the first round! Can't loss by more than 62pts... It's not looking good :(

Again im goin to show my annoyance that stafford was overlooked for Knobel or even not in the Side as a Forward, they had mooney and harley out 2 talls, and simmonds has done SFA,

Stafford should be the FF or richo with simmonds in the fwd line or in the ruck

maybe staff but watching replay it wasnt gonna help alot, ball never got down there in 2nd half and showed why we and hawthorn will fight out wooden spoon again
 
Ray Hall better get the chop, hes been tride there before and he fails. id rather see morrison given a crack at CHB or put bowden back there again rather than hall.

chaffey turns the ball over too much and gasper... i wont even say what i want to say about him becuase it would just be filled with ****** . his kicking is probably the worst in the AFL, misses targets flat out.. Even more reason for us to be pist of as fans and thats taking Fiora over Leigh Brown is is a Young and Good Qauility CHB-FB which we badly need
 
Yup, painful start for both Tigs and the hawks... But atleast we didn't start the 2005 season where we left off in 2004... bottom!

just the same old same old.what happened to the new game plan of down the corridor? we looked worse than last year.it's going to a long cold winter i'm afraid,it's gonna take long time for us to get frawley's stupid game plan out of our system because today was a mirrored image of it. :cool:
 
Bowden: Should have been played CHB. Like he did last year. I dont care how much people go on about his height and size, he played fantastic in that position last year. Keep him there.
Brown: Isnt a forward. Not at Richmond anyway. We play different from the bulldogs, play him in the midfield where he is suppost to play.
Campbell: Bench, Forward Pocket. Too slow in the midfield and in the backline.
Chaffey: Good game today I thought. Better then last years standards anyway.
Coughlan: Great to see him back. Keep him in the midfield.
Deledio: Forward Flank/Midfield rotation please Wallace. Thanks.
Gasper: Better then most games last year. Lacked support. Isnt a number 1 defender anyway anymore.
Graham: Good in the forward line. Presented.
Hall: Useless. Get him out.
Hartigan: Why didnt he play again?
Hyde: BOG for Richmond. Played the lines, ran the ball, took a bounce and for god's sake.. he had some guts at least.
Jackson: Backline. Play him there. Not on the bench where he gets to hold a football.
Johnson: Didnt play his best. Lacked support (as usual)
Knobel: Stafford.
Krakouer: Midfield.. play him there. So much class.
Newman: Midfield rotation please.
Pettifer: Surprisingly good. Forward pocket player.
Richo: Played decent. Had a go, more then some of the others.
Roach: Midfield rotation. Thanks.
Simmonds: Ruck more and play around the grounds more is my request.
Stafford: Full Forward/Ruck.. wow, he didnt get picked.. look at that.
Tivendale: Reserved game. Reality check.
Tuck: Brilliant. Kicked the ball LONG. Went hard.

It's our first (real game pressure) match under Wallace. It will take about 5 of these games to get the team used to his style under these conditions. But our game plan wasn't the problem today. Today our midfield was smashed in the second and third quarter. Cogs played a shocker and his stupid handball to Roach which resulted in an Ottens goal was very unlike Cogs. Our manning up was poor. Cogs needs to get back to his best. Bowden was poor also.

We were in the game in the first quarter and should have been leading, but 4 or 5 shocking kicks gave Geelong at least a couple of goals. These kicks were mainly floaters that dropped 15m short and went to the opposition. Tivendale had a bad kicking day too. The game would have been a bit closer if we had that 2 goal lead at quarter time. Our midfield were embarrased in the centre breaks after quarter time. Our kicking after quarter time was average, but we just couldn't get a centre break. Manning up was very lazy. Geelong were deadly accurate with their field kicking.

We just panicked once our midfield was being dominated and we fell a few goals behind. Anyway. Deledio looked great and Hyde was doing his best. Disappointing game all up, but we can improve a heap with our centre breaks and manning up and the game plan and skills will improve over time. If you look at the turnovers in the first quarter, they were floaters which you wouldn't expect often, even from Chaffey etc. One positive from today was that we pretty much scored 3 figures although we were disappointing.
 
hard to belive but ours and hawthorns season on the line next week and its only round 2.who ever loses wont recover this year with confidence and belief.And the rumberlings about clarkson coaching will get loud while a few mummers will appear at richmond.Sad but true for both sides
 
I wish we had depth so players like Hall, Tivendale, Chaffey, etc that constantly under perform should be dropped.
