The good - have to give Kel Moore and Cuz a gig here.
The bad - the ****ing weather brought about our downfall. After slogging it out with 20 fit players last week against a real contender, we were dead on our feet on the heavy track on sunday. Once the lead got to 5 kicks we were ****ed.
;)

Good: -
Bad: lack of attack on the football, footskills
Ugly: Cotchin's hit on Wright. Was a real loser thing to do and I think he is much better than to do things like that. Will get weeks

you cant be serious. Cotchin's hit on Wright adds another dimension to the Cotch..who gives a flying **** if he gets weeks for it, and he will, but its a small price to pay for the message it sends for the future;)

Yep, wasn't a heap in it apart from Wright being one of the more fragile North players.

If it was a senior player delivering that blow to Wright in those circumstances it would have been cheap and low.

Chinny didn't do much wrong, part of the game.

dude you havent got with the program yet have you? No one gives a flying **** about your team. All your team was, was an opponent that we didnt beat for the 4 points and one of those teams that will fade into obscurity in the not to distant future. ;)

That's the spirit champ.

You aren't a Bradroo alias are you?

lol..I was between the cheer squad and grog squad and thought it was coming from the wing. It does make the other 90% of us look like flogs though. I wish people like that would stay home and boo their televisions.

In some way they are excused because they actually stuck around for the whole game, so they're the "true" (or feral :p) supporters.. but yeah I hate it.

Does any other club do this?

to all those criticising the bronx cheers...

as everyone's membership brochures point out, we, the fans, are the major stakeholders in the club. whilst we can't make the final call on who plays and who doesn't, we've got every right to make our opinion known regarding the performance of both the team and as whole and particular players, regardless of whether those opinions are positive or negative. obviously, BF and other footy forums are a great place to do this. but the effectiveness of online posting is undercut by two things:

1. not every fan can access these sites - most don't have the knowhow or the time.

2. the vast majority of posts will go unread by the club and the media.

now obviously, these factors prevent the fan's opinions posted on BF etc. from either being truly representative of the fans and from really having a chance to influence club policy.

on the other hand, matchday crowd reaction, by its definition (and thankfully particularly amongst richmond fans) is loud and clear, and is by far the most visible of any form of either support or protest. we can cheer our favourite players, and let the club know who to promote in the media and through membership marketing - and at the same time, we have the opportunity to let forth our frustrations at the problems being experienced on match days - whether those be related to the players or the coaching or the umpires.

if you care about being a real stakeholder in the richmond footy club, you've got to support the right of fans to express their opinion on game day, the one place we're given a public forum to do so.

The Good-

Dan Connors- keeps his brilliant form going. Hasn’t put a foot wrong since his first Coburg game after suspension.

Tuckey- his contested work was sensational. If the rest of the team had played with the same intensity we would have won.

Kingie - on his 50th he showed why Dimma loves him. 16 disp, 3 marks, 5 tackles, 6 clearances, 4 inside 50s and 1 goal 1, and kept Boomer to a less than impressive 23 touches. He didn’t have his usual influence on the game.

Dimma would have been absolutely filthy at our lack of intensity and would no doubt let the players know about it. The good part from this is next week againsed the Pies. I would be 100% positive we will be ferocious at the man and ball. Look out Pies here we come, this will be a cracker of a game.

The Bad -

Gus’s inability to take a good strong grab. I know the conditions weren’t the best and he is normally a good strong mark, but It was terrible the amount of times the ball was licked to him in a contested situation and he couldn’t take the mark, even though he was clearly the biggest in the contest. It hurt us bid time, especially from the kick outs.

I know it’s fashionable to bag White, King, and McGuane etc for bad turnovers, but Lids errant handball halfway in the first qtr that resulted in Browns goal was a shocker. It set the scene for a day of lazy uninspired football from us.

Only one goal for the day at the Punt Rd end.

Umpiring- not normally one for bagging the Umps, but I thought we had the raw end of the deal. 12 to 21 was a disgrace.

The Ugly-

The Jeers at Tambo. Even though he had another ordinary game, at least he threw himself at every contest with courage and intensity. Even though he had minimal impact, if the others had played with the same hardness maybe the result would have been different.

I understand what you're saying and you make some good points, but I think the type of fan doing this are generally not representative of the majority. But we all get tarred with the same feral brush just because a section of the crowd has had a few too many drinks (and often has only a superficial understanding of what's going on with a player).
