I am leaving the kids behind and flying out to Phoenix/ Vegas on Tuesday with Mrs DERO! Pretty excited! I’ll miss Anzac Day (any suggestions on how to watch this would be good).

I have booked in an overnight tour of Sedona/ the Grand Canyon whilst my wife does her work stuff but am open to any suggestions.

4 nights Phoenix/ 4 Vegas.

DC659BA3-DADF-4B23-A40C-0421ABFE29A7.jpeg Photos from the bottom of the Western rim of the Grand Canyon where we have helicoptered in. It is really difficult to get a feel for the elevation from the photo but let me tell you that it is indeed an amazing place. 9C017B37-9515-4CED-9CB0-F06D41E65053.jpeg

I found some decent beaches in England, all the way over in Cornwall!

and some shots around Tintagel and Mousehole (Dylan Thomas famously called Mousehole the prettiest village in England - I think he was drunk most of the time he was there)

So looks like the next big lads trip will be road trippin through the states.

Fly to Boston, go through New York, Philly, Nashville and others on our way down to New Orleans then shoot across the desert and canyons to Vegas.

looking to be early 2020 for a few joint 40ths, hopefully President Orange is out of office by then

Cornwall's very lovely. We spent a week there in 2014, based in Falmouth, when the boys competed in a schools competition. Loved the coves and beaches and the Cornish teas. Thought that the Cornish pasties weren't a patch on the SA ones though. "Mowsel" is a very pretty place, I thought. Even if I was not as drunk as Dylan when we visited...water was freezing in mid-July. All the locals in wetsuits at the beach in Falmouth.

Haha the locals are still wearing the wetsuits, and I reckon when I head back there in summer I will be wearing one too! When in Rome....

If you can, hire a car from Edinburgh and head north through the highlands and to the isle of Skye. If time is limited, complete a 3 day tour leaving from Edinburgh that travels through the highlands and to the isle of skye. I didn't spend all that long in scotland but that short tour i did really is a great memory.

Off to Europe in September:

Vienna
Budapest
Timisoara
Ljubljana
Dubrovnik
Venice
Salzburg

Any highlights? I plan to visit my clan museum and I have heard that Edinburgh is a great city but don't really know too much about it at all.
Edinburgh is a beautiful city, definitely go there, also agree that driving through the highlands is a must. Even more so if you're a Scotch enthusiast. Don't worry about Glasgow it's a hole.

London is great for a visit, check out Bath too. Brighton is also good during the warmer months.

Can't help with Wales

Can't help with Wales
i drove into Wales on the way from Bath to Manchester. we accidentally tuned into a Welsh radio station and were pissing ourselves laughing. we stopped at a tiny village pub for lunch and chatted to the locals who were lovely.

can’t remember the name of the village though.

hope this helps!

Was it Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch ?

Edinburgh is beautiful. Holyrood Castle is better than the Tower of London, IMO.
Looks amazing at night when all lit up perched above the city

I've been to Scotland but didn't get a chance to go to Edinburgh and I hate myself for it. I did however get to see Glasgow and I have to say I was surprised at how pretty it was. I'd been told a number of times it was a poo hole. I didn't think so.

I was there in 2002, may have cleaned itself up a bit now
