jonno is a bloody gun.....doesnt get enough recognition from us blues fans........

was behind sam mitchell at hawthorn so never got game time....when pagan was coaching north during a final, johno ripped the kangas apart, and since then pagan was always a fan

who would've expected a ratten replacement for pick 51?:D :D :D :D

sorry Jimmae. get your facts straight.
Beaumont had nothing to do with that deal.
The Beaumont deal went as follows:
Beamont -----> Hawthorn
Loats ------> Geelong
Clarke -----> Carlton

I am getting my facts straight... you think we traded Beauie for Clarke? :p

I'm not disputing that was or wasn't the trade, I'm simply saying it was clearly influenced by the other trade and vice versa

Hawthorn was happy with the trade for 2 reasons

No 1 - Brett Johnson wanted to leave. Hawthorn was playing Tim Clarke in front of him, and rightly so he wanted to play senior footy.

No 2 - Harford was on a huge salary and Hawks had to move him to make salary cap room (Hawks may be paying a piece of his salary this year?).

For Carlton to take Johnson, you had to take Harford as well.

Harford only costs us 100 k a year the rest is on the hawks

If that's all he is costing us, then it was worth the punt picking him up. Harford will always be there as a back-up should any of the A grade midfielders get injured. At that price, it's cheap insurance !!

In actual fact Harf is costing us next to nothing.
He was on 300k for this year...talked into leaving for a 2 year contract.He is still gets the 300k but its spread over 2 years and Hawthorn pay 100k a year.
Why would he leave for a 2 year contract same money? Well Harf wants to play footy and has a better chance of getting a go over 2 years at Carlton than one year at Hawthorn where they wouldnt have played him and after the year he would have been kicked out.
Glad he is with us. A great guy and he can play footy when we call upon him. His pre season was excellent.
