The Kinks - Misfits

Are there many Kinks fans knocking about on here? i forget these things.. How do you all rate their 1978 album Misfits? I only got around to checking this one out last year. This seems to be a very underrated LP.

It's a damn great one for sure, not a weak track on it imo. I'm a big fan of the mid-late 70's slick sound rock bands were going for though.. i can see how the garage rock fans who worship the likes of Kontroversy would not be into this.

The songwriting is still A grade. I mean.. there is a song about hay fever on here. The only one i know of The title track and out of the wardrobe are also big favs. There is also a big cast of players on this one. Nice full sound without being to overbearing.

It's one of their albums I only ever listened to once and I honestly can't even remember a thing about it. I'll give it another go.

Listened to this for the first time and very impressed. Only just working my way through the post golden-era albums, if they as good as this - it will be very enjoyable.

In A Foreign Land is a cracker track

It's a really strong album I reckon. Towards the tail end of their top 10. The title track is one of my favourite Kinks songs, and there's plenty of other good ones. "In A Foreign Land" and "Out Of The Wardrobe" in particular.
