The holding the ball decision was questionable, but Richards did dive on the ball, and when you do that, and it doesn't come out, most umpires pay it these days, even though the rules say you only need to be making an attempt for it not to be holding the ball.

The second one was technically there, although usually an umpire would just tell the players to settle down and move on, especially in a dead ball type situation.

I really hope this is his last game coz he is so bloody annoying. When a game is umpired well, you don't notice the umpires. He is always noticed! Tbh I think he just loves giving red hot, controversial free kicks away coz he loves to be on TV, honestly, hearing his smartass explanations shits me.

5 goals to the dockers from free kicks. I didnt see the first half but the richards one in the goal square was very very unlucky, the one against mattner for contact to the face was just bullshit. if theres a melee going on behind play. why pay one free kick infront of goal, i understand the umpire needs to have control over the game, but surely they could do it without ruining the contest.

He's been absolutely disgraceful today even by his standards and most of his decisions have favoured Freo, contributed to at least three of their goals with very soft decisions and which has given Freo all the momentum. Just loves to make himself the centre of attention by blowing his whistle rather than let the game go.

He'll be lucky to make it out of the SCG alive and I wouldn't blame Sydney supporters for wanting to lynch him.

Ray has been correct in nearly all decisions. I would be more concerned with Sydney's lack of discipline in todays game. It has been appalling.
