I got free tickets to this and went along not expecting much, but surprisingly, it was pretty good. Reasonably fast moving and genuinely funny in parts. Cameo roles from wrestlers Stone Cold, Kevin Nash, Goldberg and Randy Orton were also entertaining in parts. Definitely a spoof of Mean Machine, but it's done reasonably well.
The best part of the movie is Courtney Cox at the start.
Never rated her before, but let's just say, she has grown... enormously!

Saw it last night and have to say it was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Biggest laughs I got was laughing at other people who were laughing at the movie.

i assume mean machine either flopped or wasn't released in USA, so sandler used the exact story line, and threw some extra jokes in.
The thing i found most interesting is the way that advertising has taken over movies... Come on the McDonalds stuff was an absolute joke and well reebok... Dear oh dear...

This isnt a rip off of 'Mean Machine'. It is a remake of an older movie entitled "The Longest Yard". Mean Machine took the premise of the ORIGINAL Longest Yard and made a soccer movie about the inmates playing the guards.

Certainly the best Adam Sandler movie I've seen, pretty funny in a few parts. Good to see Kevin Nash playing a role that suits him perfectly .
