Think we've been missing Tex Walker's leading up the ground, presenting as a target from the centerline to fwd 50. Also Lynch's presenting, as shown in the bulldogs game.

Think back to when we played against Sydney, we had LJ, Smack and Pods, it was woeful. Once Lynch returns, teaming up with Tex & Jenkins we'd then have plenty of lead up targets, not just in our forward 50, but also leading up the ground into the center. Lynch and Tex haven't played much together but I honestly think they'll be dynamite, causing headaches for opposition, I'd add Jenkins to that list too, he hasn't played with Tex much at all.

It'd be interesting to read how many games Jenkins, Tex & Lynch have played together, I'd take the guess that it'll be less than 5 games.

No argument with the above, although it's a bit more than that.

Basically it's all about forward movement and spread. Even when Walker wasn't there, but Lynch was, his movement all around the ground made it difficult to counter him, plus it made spaces in the forward line for the other forwards to lead into.

On the other hand when it was Pods, Johnson and Smack, the lack of movement was terrible and there was no forward spread, rather it was the forward clump.

Full credit today to the other forwards who sacrificed their game to some degree by leading out wide and opening space for Tex to lead into. Add to that Tex's mobility and movement up the ground as well, and it gave us a damaging forward line.

I actually think it's mostly about attitude.

Despite some of our howlingly bad disposal - we can still win if the full game effort is there.
Agreed. Our disposal wasn't that great in '12 but we got close to a GF appearance. What we did well was clearances and contested possessions. An area we're doing pretty well at this year.

5 goals, Minus the mo. It was holding him back, unbalancing him.
Tex, Lynch, Pods, Betts, Jenkins, Cameron. That six allows so much flexibility and movement. All it needs is a forward coach that can harness its awesome power.

Lyons looked good in the forwards as well, seems to find the ball and when a player regularly finds the ball in our attacking 50 it can only be a good thing

(unless of course your name is Nick Gill)
