Top 3 in ROY ? Wiggins, Payton, Mirotic ? Also smart would be up there, i haven't to much attention to award races this season so i could be way off other than Wiggins. There hasn't really been a rookie average 20+ points in a while.
Big game today with bulls playing raps, raps are currently up 54-50.
Hopefully cavs can beat memphis but they seem to struggle with slower paced teams, even though they beat them earlier in the season with waiters i think memphis will win today. Which opens the door for the winner of the bulls raptors game to some degree. Really if bulls win today then beat the cavs in their final meeting thats a chance for them to put pressure on the cavs 2nd seed, i don't see any way raptors can over take cavs in the final 10 games.

For ROY Wiggins has it in the bag. I have Mirotic at two on that list with his play probably the strongest of all the rookies when he has been on the court, but the issue has been when Noah, Gasol and Gibson have all been healthy at least earlier in the season he wasn't always getting minutes. From there Payton, Noel and Nurkic I could make a case for having in any order with all going pretty well at various points, and Payton certainly improving and making a case since the all star break to be among the votes.

Happy for the Bulls to win v the Raptors. Really want that 3 seed. Milwaukee if they keep the 6 seed feel exceptionally beatable with their struggles since trading Knight. I don't see any real chance of the Bulls passing the Cavs by for the 2 seed, as much as I feel the Bulls probably close out the season strongly with Jimmy Butler returning, I just can't see the Cavs losing many games from here.

Well I was wrong about the grizz/Cavs game

There's not many the Cavs lose now with the team beyond Love feeling settled. There is enough size on the frontline now with Mozgov, but the Grizz did underperform by their standards and should have been more competitive.

the real race is between 6-11 in the east, wide open

Can somebody please tell me why Portland are still in 4th while the Clippers are in 5th even though they're a full game behind*?

*About to be a half game behind with their big win over the Suns.

The standings are as follows wicksy:

http://espn.go.com/nba/standings

I think sometimes the NBA.com standings can take a day to update, so it's not always immediately correct. ESPN I haven't checked when they update it, but either if you give it a day should have their standings updated.

The race definitely is on.

I'm just not all that concerned by any of those teams with all their records under 500.

The Heat without Bosh and the Pacers without Paul George just aren't even if in the playoffs getting past the first round, and those 6-8 seeds regardless of who gets through unless say George was to come back and the Pacers make the playoffs, I just don't see any of them getting close.

I would be surprised if Wizards lost in the first round, the top 4 should do it easy tho

???

Looks at the Standings.... Blazers just beat the suns which evens it out slightly but they are still a half game behind the Clippers.
It even showed (prior to today's game) that the Clips had sewn up a playoffs spot but Portland hadn't.... Yet they remained 1 rung above.

I believe when two clubs are equal on %, they look at the team's record against one another to determine who sits above who but even then, the Clippers lead the series 2-1.

I have no idea.

A team that wins there division is guarenteed a top 4 seed, Portland are leading their division, clippers are not, neither is houston. So who ever has a worse record between rockets and clippers will drop to 5th

Well there you go. Not sure I agree with that though*.
Does that mean that Clippers can only finish 3rd or 5th assuming they finish with a better record than Portland?

*The rule that is.

They can finish 2nd also, (warriors have first spot locked up)
I have no idea why they do it like that but that's my understanding.

If clippers finished 2nd then one of Memphis or houston would be moved to 5th regardless of portlands record (assuming Portland win division)

Well they certainly won't lose it to OKC.

Sorry, misinterpreted the question.

Divisions are annoying, particularly with the seeding and how that works.

Divisions were in pace pretty much in the same way the Eastern and Western conferences are to reduce the travel of teams, and build rivalry amongst those nearby cities.

Just from a playoffs perspective the way it can change the seeding really is less than ideal and really unnecessary.

Cavs better beat miami tomorrow, not only will it drop them to 9th but it will make it almost impossible for cavs to finish lower than second.
No bullshitting around this time LeBron, destroy the enemy.

You won't have to worry about the Cavs losing the two seed. The Bulls are too far behind and the Raptors aren't making up that ground.

Cavs v Miami will be a fun game for fans, no question. I'm assuming Love is missing, so LeBron probably will need certainly on offense to relatively lift his output. The one thing though is v Miami, it's really hard to score. They don't score a whole lot - though on offense they look much better with Dragic, but the critical thing with Miami is they can defend. They have a team filled with real team defenders, Luol Deng can relatively limit LeBron's influence about as well as anyone bar Kawhi Leonard/Jimmy Butler/Tony Snell, then you've got D.Wade who plays the passing lanes and Whiteside to protect the rim and they're not going to be easy for LeBron to put up big numbers on. So I'm not even sure it's being passive with LeBron v Miami, it's just a hard team offensively to really go off on.

Destroyed miami and beat the Bulls. Time to tank the 2 games vs boston to avoid indiana first round.
Great to see George back, not really keen seeing him first round lol

You must be reading my mind. As a Bulls fan I'm hoping Indiana make the 7 seed. Let's go Indianda! :D

Cleveland can still win v Indiana in 6, no issues. I mostly just want to see the series because it's more interesting than seeing a Boston or Brooklyn who are teams that can be swept pretty easily.

Anyone else watching the championship basketball game today?

I've been watching and supporting Wisconsin from game 1 of the NCAA Tournament and really glad to see them knock off Kentucky and play v Duke today. Let's see if they get it done.

I want kyrie and love to have an easy first playoff series, I think pacers vs Hawks would be great to see :p
Yes I'm watching it ! I'm going for Duke because Kyrie played a few games for them, but I really like Dekker.

Dekker has exploded through March Madness and is playing out of his skin. I'm most in love with Kaminsky's game, he has that savy veteran big feel, with a bit of guard in him, it's almost Nikola Mirotic-esque just being guys off the dribble and shooting from long range. He is light, but as a late bloomer, he can put on weight and get better on D so I really like him as a pro prospect as someone who does everything efficiently. Throughout the season I've been red hot on Kaminsky as a prospect for the Bulls and desperately hope he falls to the Bulls first round pick.

I feel similar for Duke in the sense that a lot of ex Bulls I liked played for Duke. So I don't dislike them as I do with Kentucky who just recruit the best kids every year, and win in that Miami when they had LeBron kind of way where they just get the best talent because everyone wants to sign there.

I'm generally a Florida fan, but with Florida not relevant this year, I've really fallen in love with Wisconsin. It's a bunch of white guys who just play the best team basketball in College Basketball. They're all unselfish and share the ball, they can all shot from long range and all can beat you off the dribble. It's just a fun, European style that is so attractive and watchable. Just an incredibly well coached team and love what they've done all season and really want to see them win.

watch out of LSU next year, all the MCdonald all americans now realise they can't all start for kentucky i reckon a few of them who are yet to nominate are going to bolt for a lesser know recent program but 1 who can match it with the best of them when given proper taler.

(im a florida gators and a texas longhorns fan)
