I was a bit of a druggy too, into everything but needles. The 90s rave scene was hectic and i did lose a fair few friends along the way. Smoked a lot of pot and speed and e's were a bit of a fav.

Acid was the killer though, that shit puts holes in your brain and it could sometimes take weeks to feel 'normal' again. It really messes people up.

Luckily for me a good women found me and straightened me out, i doubt I'd be here without her.

We must have crossed paths at Bass Station / Zoss late 90's / early 00's!

Got into a bit of e back then and didn't mind the odd hash cookie / cake (cant handle smoking, makes me cough incessantly).

Does anyone still use the word handicapped? Someone at work got pulled up for using it - actually more than pulled up they got a formal warning. I use the word disabled but never crossed my mind that handicapped was one of these words people are no longer permitted to use

In what context?

No context, just “such and such is handicapped” rather than saying “disabled”
Strange. Never heard anyone be told off or anything of the sort for saying handicapped. If anything, I'd say it'd a better term than disabled though neither are necessarily offensive (unless being used to clearly mock someone of course).

That’s what we were saying too - “disabled” if you discect the words is arguably more offensive - after all it implies you are not able. Just a really strange decision. I believe the person involved is thinking about taking out a grievance against the management for being given a warning. Don’t blame her either.

Don’t think it’s wrong, but I don’t recall using the term of late.

Changing topic, is there much coverage over there about the Muslims protesting pro LGBTQI school programs in a few English schools? Who wins the politically correct war with that?

You bring up an interesting point. The left are nothing more than a collaboration of groups often diametrically opposed to each other held flimsily together for support. You won’t hear the LBGT community criticise Muslims over this because, just as feminists, they see Muslims as oppressed people and fighting the same cause. Any minority group in fact will not get sounded out, whether it be the issues regarding African FGM (cultural practice and not for us to interfere), black on black knife crime and gang culture (our fault for failing them and for reducing police numbers - which is only because so much policing is now spent on counter-terrorism an issue which escapes the left) and pretty much any other minority group you care to mention. Of course there is one group the hard left hate and that’s the Jews but that’s another matter.

I feel at this point the goal is to remove and replace all the institutions and culture that the West has built over the past centuries, but I’m not sure they know exactly what they are replacing it with. The coalition the feminists and the LGBT community have with Islam though is the most absurd thing out there no doubt.

I hear it used here and there, but if I am referring to someone who is disabled, I generally say they have a disability etc

To me, if someone is in a wheelchair, you would say that person has a handicap. However, if a person has Down syndrome for example, you would say that person has a disability because it isn’t a handicap that someone could develop.

A similar thing is saying “Passed away” and “Died”. If someone dies from cancer or from old age, “passed away” is accurate. But if a person is deceased through a car crash, I think “died” is most accurate. To me, both have the same meaning but can be used in different context.

Just finished that Madeline McCann docco on Netflix. Anyone seen it? Theories? Parents are suss af for mine.
Something suss about them but I just can’t see what their involvement is. Have you seen their link to the pedo chef in the area?

Those guys asking for money in the area for the orphanage are the ones I’m thinking took her and then onsold her.

Back on the drug chat I’ve tried most things like chef apart from needles. I’ve got a pretty experimental personality but luckily at the same time a very non addictive personality too. Moving to London made cocaine much more affordable and accessible and is definitely the one I’d say was my favourite. The 2-3 years over there were enough for me and since moving back to NZ and Australia I found it very easy to just give up it up got a heap of mates I made over in London who’ve come back and not been able to shake the feeling of getting bags after a few beers even when the cost is 3-4 times as much and the quality is nothing like it.

Yeah. Didn’t really get the appeal. Instant short rush
You have to do it in tandem with weed in order to get said appeal. It’s not a rush, but a one minute-long, super-intense trip.

Did it a few times whilst star-gazing. Incredible.
