Most under 40s will recover but there are still a few becoming seriously ill or, even dying. I'll find the article but there was one from Italy that says that even healthy 20 year olds are being treated for pneumonia. I'm happy being in lockdown for x amount of time, I'd rather look back and think we may have overreacted as opposed to underreacting. Italy suggests that if appropriate isn't taken or left too late, it will be a disaster. How long do we expect young people to tolerate this social shutdown before they start kicking off? This isn’t a dig at them but if their lives are essentially put on hold for x amount of time I can see a huge youthquake occurring. Let’s be honest, almost no one under 40 is under threat from this virus, for most it would be like a heavy cold while for some it will be like getting the flu and a select few may end up in hospital. I’ve already seen a few twitter posts bemoaning this

Pubs were rammed last night apparently for paddy's day.How long do we expect young people to tolerate this social shutdown before they start kicking off? That’s what I’m saying, younger people aren’t isolating, it’s just a flu virus to them. And what we are not even into a week of this, what’s it going to be like after a couple of months?Pubs were rammed last night apparently for paddy's day.
Twitter doesn't represent society.
I don’t think you’ve grasped what I’m sayingGotta protect the vulnerable members of society. Italy has an older population plenty of who smoke / used to smoke. Corona has decimated Italy because of this. South Korea on the other hand has gone all out on testing and has a very low death rate due to being younger and generally in better health.
Until we see a sharp drop in new corona virus cases this is likely to continue.
My kids(early 20s) and their friends are taking this pretty seriously and most are freaking out. That’s what I’m saying, younger people aren’t isolating, it’s just a flu virus to them. And what we are not even into a week of this, what’s it going to be like after a couple of months?
We lost all our catering for the next 3 months and are looking to shut one of our 2 cafes and lay off all the casuals. My girlfriend's work has been shut down for the foreseeable future. Devastating.
Sorry to hear of the logistical difficulties this is causing for you. The effect is spreading all over, and this is just the start of it in Australia. We lost all our catering for the next 3 months and are looking to shut one of our 2 cafes and lay off all the casuals.
Looking at focussing on take home meals and wholesale for the foreseeable future.
Good luck dude. This is affecting so many people in ways no one could imagine just days ago really. We lost all our catering for the next 3 months and are looking to shut one of our 2 cafes and lay off all the casuals.
Looking at focussing on take home meals and wholesale for the foreseeable future.
