Surely the hoarders will be finished soon, but i can't blame people for panicing especially older ones.

It aint the older ones panick buying. They're turning up to empty shelves at the supermarket.

Buying 2 months worth of stuff is just selfish.

It was infuriating to hear of people driving out to country/regional towns over the last week and clearing out shelves of their stores. Many towns of which would only have one main supermarket. The selfishness has been awful.

They were hiring buses and driving from town to town. Its crazy.

To understand something is to excuse it.

Yep, I dont see any justification for panic buying. Someone else is missing out because you've got far more than you need. Buy a little extra by all means but stockpiling 3-4 months worth of pasta, toilet paper etc etc is just wrong.

Yes it very much is. Very selfish, very wrong. We need to bring in rationing ASAP like they have in Chile

This situation reiterates the idea that the great majority of people are selfish campaigners.

With the pubs shut, good luck finding booze in the UK. Even the alcohol free stuff is getting cleaned out of the supermarkets.

Pubs should be allowed to sell their booze stocks now that they can't operate if they dont have an off license.

Somewhere along the line we ****ed up. Pretty sure common decency and respect is progressively getting worse with every passing decade. Society has become way too focused on the self rather than the collective. Of course I’m starting to sound like a commie now but manners, respect and good conduct were always traits aligned with conservatives

I think it is more of a subconscious thing. Most people make decisions with themselves in mind whether they realise it or not.

Shows just how precarious life is. We all like to think we live in the lucky country, a strong and diverse economy.

But something like this hits and hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions are up a creek without a paddle.

they’re spending billions to help us all and by years end will likely have spent hundreds of billions more. Bloody hard job to fix and help us all. Just looks like an exercise in plugging far too many holes in the dam wall.

Have you contacted your bank Fwoy they’re being encouraged to offer loan relief to customers, particularly small businesses.
It really is hurting, I have plenty of hospitality venues as clients and feel your pain.

Apart from the up to 25k business grant have you found any other avenues of relief?

Banks should be offering mortgage relief. Give them a call.

im just concentrating on the operational side. My business partners have stake in several hotels, so I’m leaving finance to them atm...

Certain individuals are selfish.
Went into the supermarket at 9am and the toilet paper shelves were empty ,even at that time.
Then I get to the checkout and I see some fat middle aged man with 2 mega sized packs of toilet roll and a ton of other stockpiled food.
If you cant get into a supermarket early , you are screwed..
all the greedy pricks show up at opening time and take everything.

This is despite the rationing supposedly in place.
you get staff who dont even enforce it .

Just been doing the rounds only needed a few items but ended up having to go to three supermarkets, two were almost emptied of contents only Aldi’s had decent stock. Completely crazy

A lot of staff are receiving a lot of abuse atm for stopping people buying more than the rationed amount. Morrisons still dont have restrictions. Some chick spent £700 last Thursday morning. Was first in the door and just loaded up on all the toilet rolls, sanitizer, baby wipes and frozen food. Selfish campaigner.

My local tesco are only letting 50 people in at a time. Seems to be working atm. Got 12 rolls but the milk was sold out haha. Can never win haha

You don't see milk, bread, toilet paper, pasta and rice at the shops nowadays.

A few weeks ago we started buying a few extra tins of food each shop in preparation so we'll be alright. Didn't stock up on booze, although you can still get it in shops at the moment.

Luckily I have a corner shop close by which usually has everything but at far higher prices.
