Haha no no, just a job in the front office doing admin, nothing special.

Job at a school though would have guaranteed you holidays though, if the money was still decent it wouldn't have been a bad trade off - but at least you're confident you made the right decision.

Most staff still do a fair bit of work over the holidays.

And don't they let people know about it!
My sister is a teacher and will complain that she has to go into school a day or 2 before the kids and it’s ‘bullshit’. Seriously you just had 7 weeks off and in 2 months get another 3 off, shut up.

My parents were teachers.

Won't someone think of the kids dragged in during their school holidays to help take down shitty artwork, and spelling posters.

They haven't had that time "off" they're lesson planning and during the year marking and report writing. And if they aren't it's because they've worked weekends during term or late nights to keep on top of it.

Ok you’re right, teachers have it tough writing reports and coming up with lesson plans during their 13 weeks of holidays.
Pmsl

7 weeks of lesson planning? Maybe they should look at a career change if it's taking them that long.

I'd say they spend about 2 weeks lesson planning and then have the other 4 weeks as annual leave which every worker gets.

But yeah most teachers are looking for other careers which is why there's such a serious shortage of teachers in Australia and from the sounds of things elsewhere in the world.

If it takes 2 weeks lesson planning then they get another 10-11 weeks off, 6-7 more weeks than every other worker gets.

Which other weeks do they get off where they aren't marking, report writing and lesson planning for the other terms? You need to speak to your sister a bit more from the sounds of things.

As I said, there's a reason teachers are leaving in droves and it isn't because all the sensitive souls in the world decided to be teachers and are afraid of a bit of hard work.

I’m actually at her place now, definitely doesn’t take her 2 weeks to write lesson plans for a term.
Sorry to hear your wife and friends aren’t very good at their jobs.

Bit rough mate.

Most of us don’t ‘have it tough’.

Search for construction pics of the Empire State Building and you’ll get men working without scaffold support or harnesses. Chimney sweeps and steeplejacks had it tougher.

****ing hell you're a campaigner. Glad your sister is productive with her time and glad she's so on top of everything. I guess that one anecdotal piece of evidence means the tens of thousands of teachers complaining about conditions are just wingers.

If any of them are left footed and can play on the right send them tottenhams way!
