Better than Bruce?! Well I never! ;)
Springsteen is a brilliant song writer, and without Dylan, he probably wouldn't be where he is today (Him, Roy Orbison and The Beatles played a huge part in his influences).

He is great, but nobody is on Dylan's level.

U2 have many great songs.

Lennon/McCartney > Dylan. Lyrically and musically. Although, Lennon is superior to McCartney as well as a lyricist. McCartney is the far superior musician.

Bono's a great lyricist but he doesn't write the melody, Dylan does everything

McCartney and Lennon would be the other two in the Dylan bracket

Yep, very hard to go past McCartney and Lennon. Harrison wasn't terrible either even.

Dylan or Lennon/McCartney. You cant really pick a winner as song writers. Lennon/McCartney obviously the best musicians and song makers if you will. Lyrics wise, all three are in a league of their own.

I love Dylan, my favourite track of his is ...

Lyrics wise for Lennon/McCartney, so many to choose from, Nowhere Man, The End, A Day in the Life, Strawberry Fields, In My Life, Elenor Rigby... the list goes on and on.

This song though which was written after Paul McCartney read a story about a girl running away in a local paper. One of my fave Beatles tracks.

Saw a funny story in the red chair on the Graham Norton show on Youtube. His story was as follows.

He is at a nice restaurant in London with his girlfriend, celebrating her birthday, they spot Bono in the corner of the restaurant. They are huge U2 fans and really want to go over and meet him, get his autograph and ask for a photo with him but they know how much people hate to be bothered during dinner and dont know if they should go over.

After a while, they decided it's too big a chance to miss and have to go over and ask for a photo. They spot Bono going to the toilet and make the decision that they will quickly go over and ask the man Bono is having dinner with if it would be cool to come over and meet Bono and get an autograph and a picture. If the man could ask Bono if that is cool and then wave them over that would be great, if Bono doesnt want to be bothered then we understand and we will leave it be.

They head back to their table and patiently wait for Bono to return, he goes back to his table and sits down with the guy who he is having dinner with. They talk for a minute and the couple are watching then the guy, turns and motions for them to come over. So they are super excited to go over they get an autograph and they meet Bono and they ask the gentleman who Bono is with to take a photo of the three of them together.

Bono is great, friendly, they have a great experience and after 5 minutes return to their table fairly chuffed they have met Bono. After another 20 minutes they go to leave and ask for their bill.

The waiter comes over and says your bill has been taken care of. The guy say, oh I havent paid for it yet... wait did Bono pay for our meal? The waiter then says no, Bono didnt pay for your meal but Bruce Springsteen did.

Turns out, the bloke they asked if it was cool to come over and meet Bono and the bloke they asked to take a photo of the three them together was the Boss. Lolz.

Dylan's music isn't really that "great" per se. Most of it is very folky and there is a guitar and harmonica. His actual music is not ethereal, but, his lyrics more than make up for it, and as I've said, his lyrics are second to none for me.

And how have we not mentioned Like A Rolling Stone? Jesus Christ. Bruce Springsteen said of the first time he heard Dylan, was Like A Rolling Stone, and talking about the opening snare shot - "it kicked open the door to my mind."

Jesus ****ing Christ. Dylan is a song writing God.

Yeah, heard that story jod23. Bruce is probably the most modest rockstar, too.

Massive fan of the Beatles. My dad used to play their records (pretty sure he still has a record player at his home) all the time. Hey Jude and Strawberry Fields amongst my favorites.

Loved the Strawberry Fields part of Central Park, been there twice and it's always packed with people paying their respects to John Lennon. The Dakota just metres away where he was shot. I believe Bono lives there when he's in New York.

Another to throw into the hat is Simon & Garfunkel.

One of the most moving performances I've seen, brings tears to my eyes.

I'll submit another moving performance:

I'll submit another moving performance:

Neil Finn is great. I like you Loony! This is a fantastic rendition. His guitar sounds so grips. Great.

Definitely up there for me too. Even Big B has tears in his eyes. I'm not sure if you'll actually watch it, but here.

We only had 18 interested so gave everyone either 'Winner Group A' 'Runner Up Group A' etc. except for Groups B and D. Gave people Spain, Netherlands, Chile and England, Uruguay, Italy from those, and if you don't make it through the groups you get your money back.
