Yeah it is pretty lucky, there's been 2 times though when I thought she was gone. The first is when she stopped walking and eating, just wouldn't move and lied there in ball, went to the vet and found out it was an inbalance thing and that there was lots of stress on her back, therefor she wasn't willing to move. Had that all sorted and then about 1-year later she was running down the side of the house and we heard a Yelp, went outside and she was just lying there, thought she was dead. Back to the vet and it was revealed she had no cartlidge left in her legs and had severe arthritis. The vet gave us some things to give her and said this may or may not help. Said if it does work she should start walking around in a few days.

Still wasn't moving after a week but we persisted, and then after about 3 weeks she came good. She's all well and healthy now, gets around the house slowly but still has that run in her. Her eyesight is going and her hearing went a few months ago.

Persistence paid off! Good thing you kept going!

Went to see Marley and Me with my Mum and Sister years ago, didn't know the plot, and as I get in my sister mentions casually that the dog dies at the end. I don't think I've ever been more upset by a movie, and I spent the afternoon not letting my dogs out of my sight.

This was me with I am legend. Feck that movie lol - can't bring myself to watch it again.
