I have question marks over both of these and don't have either, Fisher may be forced to play a more defensive role, Gillbee is likely to be tagged. I have seen Gillbee in more teams though. Good luck !!

Thats a tough one mate.

Judd is the better, but gibbs does make up some of the deficit.

I'd go with the Judd one, i think that Gibbs might be slightly overpriced... and can have a bad week (jsut giong by having him last year).... some will be really good for his rpice, but others will make you wonder why you took him over others at 500k.

I'd go C over K. But K cornes is probably good enough.

I'd go Judd and K Cornes over Gibbs and Bury.



Now, earlier I posted a back/mid a b v x y that came up in discussion with a family friend. So I had a another look at my mids/defs, and have asked myself a similar question.


Pendlebury + Petrenko/Suban/Rance +
VS
Rich + Mattner/Gilby/Fisher/etc... very close to Hodge; easy upgrade a couple of weeks in
VS
Tuck + 400k for someone fwd... to upgrade to hodge later or to keep...


Basically, better mid, the worse back, pendles combo is mid + and back -; tuck combo is kinda evenish; rich combo is mid - back +


My current mids are strong, so Im not worried about weakening the general midfieldness. (ablett, Judd, Pendles/Rich/Tuck, Selwood, Gibbs, Cousins).

Im taking cousins as a risk because not many others are, and I don't want to end up with 22 players the same... instead I'll have 21



It sparked into my head as I too have a rookie onfield (with one of the three playing each, decided on the previous night but oponent, and chances of actually playing) and Im not 100% sure on.



So, BigFooty; hit me with some knowledge...

Judd, he will improve, bartel will stay about the same.

not houlihan. I would choose skippy, although krakouer will start the season on fire, partly due to port's draw(Ess, WCE, Melb first 3). But skippy should be strong and sustained. Only choose krakouer if you are prepared to trade him after 5-6 weeks. Could be worth it tho.

Now, Defenders. I have Drummond and Chad and space for another about the same price. Who is better value?

Tough choice, I've been in the same boat.

I was leaning towards Bock, for his consistency based on last year.
Shaw killed me last year and I can't forgive him.
Rumours that Embley has a slight injury that may keep him out for round 1.

If you can afford to upgrade him to Deledio or Cooney I would definately do that.

franklin, he's 22, will only get better ( a scary thought i know)

with hudgton out round 1 and zac dawson to play for the saints fisher will have to be more accountable limiting his scoring

the general consensus on the Melbourne board is that he'll play. he's in all their projected teams. which is enough for me to start considering him again at that price. Geary i think is the better player, but everyone thinks he'll get shuffled out of the team a few weeks in. decisions, decisions...

P Burger does look good, but i do have chad. and ive been constantly swaping between kane and S Burger. ATM i have bock, with chad ganrunteed in def, and kane in mid, so im not sure whether P Burgs should go in too.

My defs look weak having bock as my 2nd defender, but i do have chad and drummond just behind him.

Would it be worth swapping drummond for adcock, and upgrading bock?
I dont wont fisher though, becasue i already have 2 saints in defence. And i cant really see any good value defenders at that price range.

What do u think?
