Anyone who believes that Fernandes hasn't been a fantastic signing / player for Utd is deluded. He's a big win recruitment wise for the Glazer team.

On that basis I propose that the Glazers recommit to Utd for another 10 years. No need for them to sell.

Had me in the first half…

Haven't seen this angle before of the linesman incident:

That looks like a proper elbow attempt from that angle. Although slowing it down always makes it look worse than it actually is.

I can’t believe some of the replies on another tweet. Basically saying that Robertson shouldn’t have touched the official and he got what he deserved. If that is the officials reaction to being touched in a non-confrontational (it’s a professional football setting, the official isn’t running into a stranger here), then he should have got some sort of punishment. I am not saying de-registration but the rest of the month off from domestic competition.

Robertson shouldn't have touched the official, then none of this happens. The official just reacts to being pulled, he doesn't know it's Robertson.

Weren’t they walking towards each other?

Nope, he had his back to Robertson.

It look like in the tweet they are walking towards each other. Both can be in the wrong. Robertson for touching the linesman and the linesman for elbowing Robertson.

Linesman should be given an award.

He's on a football field ..who the hell does he think might be tugging his shirt? Over the top reaction by the official who deserves a suspension.

Have you not seen people jump a fence recently? Also have you ever shrugged someone off? That's literally what happens. He had no idea where Robertson's chin was

Have you not been aware that someone is nearby ..not like Robertson sprinted in from nowhere. Never shrugged anyone off with an elbow like that other than on a football field when things got heated.

I have, junkies trying to grab you on the street.

Yep.

No way the lineman elbows someone (potentially the referee) that has grabbed him from behind. He knew it was a player.

Not just any player. He would have known it was Robertson. He's played over 200 Premier League games. A left full back and a linesman would have had many close encounters and even words exchanged.

Players should have no business touching the officials, or even approaching them unless they are the captain. The linesman overreacted in this case. Maybe some education is in order for both parties.

He had his back to him when he gets his arm pulled

I doubt that even the linesman would claim that he didn't know it was Robertson who pulled his arm, and it could have been a junkie. More likely he would explain that he was trying to shrug off the contact and it landed a little high.

Thats what I said.
