Giddy up
And some posters thinks he's too slow to make it
I liked what I saw, didn't look slow in any of that atleastGiddy up

Will Brodie, Robertson etc all got same possies.
Needs good skills or good speed. Won't make it with one of those.

I liked his step through the contest in the couple of centre bounce clips, thats AFL movementYeah I'd have to watch live to make more of a judgment. His ball skills didn't look overly great but you could say the same for Serongs kicking and he's a gun
Exactly - the VFL still requires very good endurance. All of Brodie’s work and he was an accumulator was at U18 level. It took Wagner to go a new level of fitness to dominate at VFL in order to get drafted for the third time by Freo.Brodie round 1 VFL at the age of 17?
Think there's just a minimum athletic requirement to play AFL tbh.You can certainly make it still as a slow big clearance winner. It's just you can only do it as an A grader.
Murphy fell to 17 because of a perceived lack of speed. Not saying Robinson will reach the heights of footy IQ Murph possesses (very few across the entire AFL will), but speed isn’t everything if you’re winning the ball consistently.
There is still a place in the game for the ball extractors. Rowell is an example. Last year Rowell really focused on flipping out the handball. From what I’ve seen of Robinson he gets hands to the ball first. These country/farm boys seem to have a good baseline fitness.Murphy fell to 17 because of a perceived lack of speed. His mobility and covering the ground as compared to Colts last year has improved further. Only one sample this year but definite improvement. It was his debut game and he looked very comfortable. I’ve seen him in the 8-15 draft range. If he absolutely dominates the U18 carnival that may well push up but for mine he is in that range and we will use our first pick and change to grab him. Hopefully a speedy outside draftee added with another pick in the 30’s. A genuine developing ruck would be another area of need. Riddle looks handy but we need a tall athletic ruck.
So he’d be a bit of a reach at 18?I don’t think anyone is saying he won’t get drafted. He just won’t go top end. That isnt a bad thing for us. I’ve been told 20s is fair range from ppl who should know and that is based on his kicking and leg speed.
We’d take a live selection at 18 and match a bid with our second and third round picks if no one else had bid. The deficit would come from out F2 if he makes it past the first round. So he’d be a bit of a reach at 18?
Hopefully kickett earnt himself a league debut this week with his tackling pressure and attack on the footy
