SO time to talk to some rationale people without all the 4 yr olds on the main board going over the top.

I only saw the replay from the game it looks like porps kicks it and then you get Aker acting like a goose, normally you'd take this in to consideration, but aker is a goose so it really doesn't mean much.

What do you guys think goal? no goal?

clearly not the "OMG worst decision ever" but what was people immediate thought?

CLEARLY, VERY CLEARLY, Akers hands. Porp was nowhere near it, and in the post match was dodging the question. Lucks a fortune. Very big F up from the umpires @ a massively important part of the game

I'm not argueing that - but what about Welshs pathetic 50m which gave the bulldogs a goal, what about the 300 other free kicks which were missed that could have resulted in goals???

it is so ****ing easy just to blame the umps thats all people do in the AFL

definitely NO GOAL

However you need to take the luck when it comes your way, because sometimes you might be on the recieving end, like last week St Kilda was awarded a goal after the ball hit the post

We also spanked you by 7 goals...

tonight was late in a very close game, definitely influenced the outcome

but, ya take em... pity you'll be punished next week

can you please explain this to your friends who have porps as a cheat and the umpire as a biased crows supporter

yes but what about all of the other decisions or non decisions which cost or stopped goals

its a pandoras box to suggest 1 decision in the game cost the WB the result.
I can very clearly see and understand your point. I only hope you can see mine.

At the end of the day this type of thing is at the very core of all sport. It's like wondering 'what would have happened if aker had of taken the kick out and put it down porps throat 15m out' in other words it's pointless.

I see you point I just don't agree in this circumstance

After seeing the replay several times, it becomes clearer that it wasn't a goal but considering we were treated poorly by the umps all day, you'll take a bad decision going your way.

That 50 was crap as was the missed high tackle on Maric and many other poor decisions/non decisions throughout the game.

Clearly not a goal, but then two bullies goals (at least) were from a dubious free (HTB when it clearly wasn't) and a 50m penalty to Welsh when Bassett apparently offended the umpire. Did it change the momentum? Hard to say, but we had been chipping away at the Doggies in the 2nd and 3rd quarters (and had won each of those by 4 pts. Before that goal, we'd just managed to draw level, so we already had momentum going our way.

it seems there are some really really simple people out there

as
I put in another post, whats the difference between what the goal ump did and an umpire paying a free kick to someone who dives which results in a goal

or worse doesn't pay a free kick which could have resulted in a win for the team??

One's a matter of fact, and one's a matter of opinion.

Actually i commented to those around me that Aker spent most of his time in defence tapping is hand for touched over various things -reckon the umps got sick of it!

I noticed this too. Aker is the boy who cried wolf. He had no credibility left after trying to con the goal umpire with two earlier goals. When he claimed he touched the third one (which he clearly did) he was ignored.

Porps should have taken the chest mark in the goal square and then he wouldn't have had to kick it off the ground.

Bottom line is ... winners are grinners :D

It definately wasn't a goal but it would've been hard to tell from the goal umps position. Maybe thats an argument for video replays to be allowed into the play.

:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

the whole last quarter I was seriously worried that you guys would win by less then a goal. Then the whole final four this season would have been based on a unarguable mistake by an umpire.

I agree that there should be replays for goals and points decisions, but nothing else.

o.k i missed the point

you can go home now.

It's ok mate, i just think it's really funny that you described Neal Craig as really, really simple.

PS And in an amazing coincidence this was the same umpire that had to adjudicate on the "it was touched jist as it finished crossing the line" kick in the show down at the same end. On that occassion Darren Trengrove may have been correct, even though the replay angle may have made it look like a goal........
