Would Carlton qualify for a pp if they only win 3 matches this season.
The new rules state a club only qualifies if they win 4 matches or less overs two seasons. So i think carlton would qualify for 2 picks in the top 5 because we would be under the 8 WINS over 2 years.

pretty sure we wouldn't qualify as we have the draw from last year.

i also think they have re worded the rule so is says 20 points or less rather than 4 wins.

I think it's no more than 3 wins. - No chance of that happening. Nor would anyone want it to happen.

Otherwise, priority picks have now been moved to the end of round 1.

No more than 16 points in a single year and a total of 32 points in two years to qualify for an early priority pick. Since both The Age and the Herald Scum mentioned that we would appeal to get an early PP if we won 4 games or less, there isn't a snowflakes chance in hell that we're eligible.

We're going to win more than 4 games with games against the Roos, Essendon, Fremantle, Port and Richmond in Melbourne so it's a redundant question. :)

We shouldn't be "barracking" for draft picks at any stage. We want to win as many games possible this year. This will have a much greater benefit than picking up an extra pick in the draft, even if this year is going to be a "super draft". Winning games get people through the gates, supporters sign up as members and we have a better chance of gaining more corporate support.

Exactly priority picks won't help us if we aren't around long enough for them to play a game or if we are called the Carrara Blues, what we really need is sponsors and members which you only get by winning games and playing good footy.:)

Exactly Murphster. We've assembled some great young talent, and considering the depth of this years draft, we'll get another good one no matter where we finish. Time to start winning games and getting peoples bums on seats again.

Sometimes people get carried away with the idea of high draft picks. While a top 5 pick is a good chance of making it the are no guarantees. We're much better off developing the winning culture which has been missing for too long.
