Welcome to the Qooty Fantasy Draft. Here is where the participating Captains will choose the majority of their team through a Draft.

The way this will work is:

Each team will consist of EIGHT players. This will be made up of the Captain, their 4 Draft selections, and 3 random allocations.

There will be four rounds of the draft. I have randomised the list of Captains below. This will be the order for the First and Third rounds of the Draft. For the Second and Fourth rounds, the order will be REVERSED. I will post the new draft order in this spot at the beginning of each round.

The Draft Times are from 8am Melbourne time until 12am Melbourne time every day until the Draft is complete. No-one expects to be up all night to make their selection. However, if your turn comes up during this time, you are welcome to select - it's just that your exclusive period will not expire while you sleep.

Starting with the first Captain on the list, I will ask you to select an available player from the Draft Pool, by naming the player and either bolding the name, or by naming them and tagging me. To complete the post, please then tag the next Captain on the list to advise him that they may enter the draft. Each tagged Captain will have a MAXIMUM of 2 hours from when they are tagged into the Draft to make their selection. If they do not make a selection within this time frame, the next person in line may enter the draft. If a Captain misses their choice in this way, they may still jump in at any time before the round is completed and make their selection, however they have lost their exclusive rights to players who would have been available at their original selection time.

At the end of each round of the Draft, there will be a LULL period of one day, to allow any Captains who missed their turn to make a selection. If a Captain has still not made a selection in this time – too bad! They miss out, and their selection will be made in the random allocations at the end. We will then move on to the next round of the Draft, where the order will be reversed. I will post the new draft order at the beginning of each round.

After FOUR rounds, the draft will be finished. Theoretically, each captain will have 5 players on their list - themselves plus their 4 selections. To complete team lists, I will then randomise all the remaining players in the Draft Pool and assign them to each Captain to complete their lists. The completed team lists will be published in the next thread in this saga, the Teams And Scores Thread. The leftover players will remain in the Draft Pool for the Captains to exchange into their teams for unwanted players in the upcoming Teams and Scores Thread.

So each Captain will end up with themselves, four chosen players and 3 assigned players on their team. They may, of course, then negotiate with other Captains in the Teams and Scores Thread (which will soon be posted) to trade players between teams, or may delist a player and replace them with an available player from the Draft Pool in the Teams and Scores Thread.

Below is the Draft Pool. These are all of the SFA players who received at least ONE DT point during SFA S21. Their S21 DT averages are also shown, thanks to Danoz’s extended statistics thread. I have added in the known Rookie signings and activated players, and removed the delisted and retired players. Should anyone believe that a player who is not listed should be in the Pool, please advise me. Additions to the Pool will only be made during a Lull period between rounds.

You may notice that, initially, every player is listed in the Draft Pool twice, due to the number of Captains who are playing. Each player may be selected TWICE, by different Captains. Captains may not select any player twice in the same team.

I will be as vigilant as possible in taking players out of the pool when they become unavailable, but if a Captain selects a player whom a preceding Captain has selected and who should have been removed from the pool, that selection will not go through, and the Captain will be asked to reselect. As rookies and returning players are signed to teams for S22, they will also be added to the Draft Pool. They will become available for signing only after they have been added to the draft pool and announced in the thread, on a first come, first served basis.

RULES:

• Ant Bear MUST be taken in the first round or the whole shebang is OFF!!!
  
• You may only select a player once. Do not select yourself – you are already on your team.
• You may only select a maximum of 2 players from your own SFA club.
• If you miss your exclusive draft period of 2 hours, you may make your selection at any time before the round is finished. If you do not, you will receive a random allocation at the end.
  
  
• A valid selection post must include the name of the selected player (either bolded or with a tag to me) and must include a tag for the next Captain. This will be acknowledged by a “like” from me. If you fail to do this, don’t complain when you get the dregs at the end! Please note that you cannot edit a tag into a post – it does not notify the tagged person. If you post your selection without the tag, to validate it you must re-post it with the tag. I will be strict on this.

The next stage of the game will be posted after the fourth round of the draft, and after the random allocations are done. This will be the thread where team lists are kept, and where you may trade players and make list changes.
To help you with forward planning, here is a draft of the rules. This may change slightly, and be prettied up, but you get the idea...

Qooty Fantasy Draft Trading, Teams and Scores

Here is where Qooty Fantasy Captains may make changes to their teams, either by TRADING with another Captain, or by DELISTING one of their players and SIGNING an available player from the DRAFT POOL. All current teams are listed below, and will be regularly updated. Every week, a ladder will be posted to show everyone’s score for the round, and their overall total.

Below are all the teams as selected by the Captains and topped up with allocated players. Don’t like your allocation? Trade him. Find some other sucker with even less knowledge of the SFA than yourself and offload your spud for their stud. No-one dumb enough to trade with you? In the Draft Pool, you’ll find a list of all the undrafted players. Dive into the pool and find a gem amongst the discards.

Rules, rules, rules.

From now until the beginning of Season 22,you may make UNLIMITED TRADES with other captains. However, you are limited to a maximum of TWO delisting/signings. The beginning of the season will be defined as the day that the first Match Threads are posted for S22.

Once S22 begins, you may then make only ONE list change of each type every week (ie a maximum of one trade and one delist/sign) The trading window in-season will be from Tuesday at 12.01am Melbourne time until 11.59pm Melbourne time on the following Saturday night. This will give me time to update the scorecards before changing them. Any list changes between 12.01am on Sunday and 11.59pm on Monday will not go through.

For a TRADE to be valid, both captains must agree, and both must tag me with the details of the trade (eg Captain A posts: “Trade player X for Player Y from Captain B. Ant Bear”. Then Captain B posts: “Trading Player Y for Player X from Captain A. Ant Bear”. = CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve made a successful trade!) Captains may not trade themselves.

To Delist and sign a player, the procedure is much simpler. All the Captain needs to do is decide on who he wants to sign from the Draft Pool, then post the delisted player and the signed player as well as tagging me (eg Delist Player X. Sign Player y. Ant Bear) Again, Captains may not delist themselves.

Trades may be declined if these rules are not followed. All list changes are final and cannot be cancelled.

The other rules of the game are still in play. You may only have yourself and two other players from your own SFA club on your team. Should a SFA player transfer from one club to another, causing you to break this rule, you will be advised by me and given a free list change. If one of your players retires or quits, you may replace them as one of your weekly list changes – you will not get a free swap for them. And you still may only have any player on your team once.
