I bought their first album the other day and I'm starting to get pretty into it. A far cry from Jack White's other work but the album sounds like Jack's having fun with some mates and isn't being restrained by the White Stripes set-up. It's nothing life changing but overall, a pretty good album

Awesome album. I'm a fan of The White Stripes but an even bigger fan of Brendan Benson. As you say, it's not life changing but every song makes you want to sing along and move your feet. It's just a bunch of friends getting together and making some music. Only difference is that they are all extremely talented so it appears simple but is actually quite genius.
