Given the Cats, Bulldogs & Hawks are 16 - 20 points clear of fifth and the Swans look highly unlikely to qualify for a first up home final - would you be tempted to put a few of your niggly players on ice for a bit and hold back your players even though they may drop a few games they should have won so that you are better prepared for a tilt at the finals?

Or is momentum everything and you wouldn't alter anything you had planned even though it will ultimately have little bearing on the finals. After all - the fans are salivating over Rounds 16 & 17.

I'd rather momentum because we have Geelong, Sydney away, Brisbane away, Adelaide away so realistically we should win 2 of those maybe 3 and hopefully if no one gets injured and we get Tom Williams and Shaun Higgins back we should have a shit hot shot at winning a few finals. I thought we should have rested Brad Johnson during the year with his hip complaint but apart from that we've been pretty good injury wise.

Would be the same with Hawthorn the only 2 players i can see having any trouble would be Crawf with his knee and Chance Bateman with his bad run of being sniped all the time and doing groins and hamstrings.

Gees TWITA, the reverse tank? What next, the inverse Tank, that's where you openly admit you are tanking but go out and really really tried hard to win?

Do it, the future of AFL is tanking. Would make it interesting for the bottom end of the ladder, the top 3 teams will be letting Melbourne win to get Fremantle the bottom pick so that they will trade it for nothing.

You heard it here first.
