The highlighted games are the games I think we can have a real crack at winning. 9 games + the the three we already have and we will be playing in september. I dont expect us to win all of them but at the same time we may win a few that we dont expect to win.

All in all I think 8-11 games for the season. 8 if we dont improve much more and 11 if we continue improving which I believe we will. Johnson and Tambling into the side will strengthen our Midfield.

Now if we can win one of the next 2 games against the Saints and the port things might start getting very interesting. They are 2 big games for us.

thoughts???

I think you could have highlighted Richmond vs Port Adelaide.
Other than that, I agree totally with the ones you have highlighted and as you stated if we win one for the next 2 things would get very interesting.

Brisbane up there is winnable too, we come so close to them last year up there and we didnt have Richo, Gas was still coming back from the knee reco, and we have gotten rid of the likes of fletcher, marsh, fleming, houlihan etc and now have a better side while the lions have lost a fair few

injuries could have a huge impact. at the moment things look pretty rosy tho so lets hope we can win most of those and a couple of others we wouldnt expect and taste some september action!

We've had our fair share of injuries already.
-Rodan
-Schulz
-Hartigan
-Tambling
-Johnson
but injuries KPP wise we're doing ok.

and if we suddenly lose 2 or 3 talls we will be up the creek with no paddle. thats my point, if we have a good run with injuries a tilt at the finals is an outside chance, if we have a bad run then we can kiss them goodbye. those players on the injury list is pretty standard (and only rodan is long term), i wouldnt call it a dream run, but i wouldnt call it a bad one either, all clubs get thier injuries.

I think we'll have a better shot at Melbourne than West Coast, even in Melbourne. Melbourne can run a bit hot and cold. Let's hope we get them on a cold day.

LOL. How could you not highlight the kangaroos? They are not a top side and they will start losing very soon. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks beat them. I predicted the Hawks would beat the Lions

As did I.

Personally id love for us to win an interstate game, would be nice. Also, if theres one more game i want us to win, i just want us to give essendon an absoloute thrashing, it would make my year:D

realistically every team is beatable this season. Port are lucky to have any wins at all, Brisbane have lost 3 in a row, St kilda have lost 2 games and one of those was the kangas, the kangas always start the year well but we all know they are a middle of the ladder team, melbourne looked vulnerable against saints, carlton can be good but also can be average, collingwood and essendon are struggling, the hawks, dogs and freo have lost to us, adelaide are flying like us but they struggled last year, geelong have lost 2 games and sydney are inconsistent. West coast are the only team that would be almost unbeatable at home but in melbourne they are beatable. A pretty even comp.

After reading what Wallace and Richo have said repeatedly in every article since Sunday I have to agree with them. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here and remember this is Week 4 in a year where the key objective is becoming at least competitive.

I'll be stoked if we have a red hot go and are competitive in all our games. If that happens so will the wins eventually. Mind you I'd consider auctioning the left one to see Essendon get it bigtime but I can wait!

I'm a firm believer that long range forecasts are right out of the clacker and for all they're worth thats probably where they should stay...

So you haven't made a top eight prediction this year????

As I said in my post these are the matches I think we can have a real crack at. We will not win all of those games, and we may win some unexpected games along the way. I am a firm believer in Momentum. If we can keep a positive win loss ratio upto Rnd 8 I think we could seriously get on a roll to rnd 15.

I was simply putting the season into perspective. If we are capable of beating team X than we could have a chance of beating Team Y.

.

as a matter of fact I haven't, don't even enter footy tipping competitions. Play the cards your dealt I say...predictions, forecasts , prognostications will have f#$% all to do with the future...

I dont mean to offend when I say back it up the clacker..it's simply where they belong...

OK thats one game we didn't expect us to win. A huge win IMO for us and the season. OK Port plkayed Crp but we played the best football I have see since ????? can't remember.

Wins against Carlton and Collingwood would see us well on the way to septemberm, and NO I'm not getting ahead of my self.

Great to have already matched our total from last year.

8 games would be a good result, after last year finished and we got the rebuilding underway, my hope was that we would improve by 4 wins a season.

I cant see us loosing 10 more games for the rest of the season.

If our win loss ratio for the rest of the season is 1:1 we will make the eight. Teams might even make the eight with 11 wins.

We had 4 wins after round 6 last year too! :(

Yes but then we played Port Adelaide who went on to win the flag
This year we've just beaten the premiers and our next two games are against 2 bottom 8 teams, one of them a genuine spoon contender
