We are 2 and 6. Will finish at 13-9.

The Roll begins on Saturday night.
Sorry to break your enthusiasm but the season will end 6 and 16. Not too much to write home about. Only saving grace may be our injuries or lack thereof that's gets us over the line against top sides. It's been an unbelievable run in comparison to past seasons dating back to 2011.

I've been doing the predictive ladder since Round 4 I'm within 3 pts of being right thus far. I have us finishing 12/10 and the renaissance starts Saturday night
Well holy shit we better take your word for it then

Love your posts JMac, I also prefer to stay positive and to have faith in the system. I'm convinced the majority here are closet Carlton supporters, who flip flop at every turn.
Side by side!

I have faith in the system and stick to the processes*

*that for the past 6 years have consistently failed.

This would be disastrous if it occurred.
Listening to Paul Roos on Triple M today he reaffirmed a pretty valid point.

When you're coaching a side and the pressure mounts you need to coach to a plan.
You need to have that brand.
That brand needs to be evident and consistent week in week out.

If you're simply coaching for results and just the wins- it will prove fruitless in the end.

It's the cycle we are in now- we have a coach who simply only wants wins- and he will try to get them in any way possible- which is going to do us more harm than good.

Sorry to break your enthusiasm jmac but we can ill afford to have this "roll" of wins- if we are to truly move forward.

I have to highlight the irony of this post supporting Jmac and then potting posters for flip flopping! Quite astounding really.

Classic. Although I can't see it happening you want to paint an 11:3 win loss to the rest of the season as disastrous. Amazingly bent logic.

I'm not expecting anything like a 13-9 result by the end of the h/a series, but I do think we can keep on being very competitive against pretty much any opposition. I think we've shown already this year we can give even the best sides a very tough game, yet we're obviously still capable of losing to sides we think we should beat. I think that sums up the nature of our team at the moment, it's also an incredibly even and unpredictable season where almost anything seems possible.

I'm very upbeat about our future prospects. The club will almost certainly make major changes at the end of the year, that now seems inevitable. If we can keep on being extremely competitive in the meantime, though not win that many games and therefore end up with a precious early pick in the draft, I think I can live with that!

Despite our awful record against them I think we could well beat Hawthorn next week. The odds I just looked at (on the AFL site) say we are the favourite, for a side sitting 17th we really aren't too bad. If we can get some games into some of our many promising young players I can see us being quite well placed (for the future) by the end of the year, despite what the win-loss record says.

I too look forward to the glorious assault of Army Detachment Steiner who will relieve Berlin in one magnificent stroke and defeat our cowering foes. Long live the thousand year Magpie reich!

Was waiting for the Downfall analogy!

Gosh I hope you're right. I'd love nothing more than to see Bucks succeed.

But the truth is that even at 13-9, it probably scrapes us into 7th spot and straight out in the finals. I know the Dogs won from 7th last year, but history says that's a one off.

The truth is we are a lot better finishing 4-18 and scoring a top 5 pick.

I'd be pretty angry this year if we record 6-10 wins. It just leaves us in no mans land for a 4th year running. So much better to just identify a season is gone early, and put emphasis onto development. This competition is designed where you have to come top 4, or bottom 4. Anything in between is fairly useless.

given the thread title, the immediate thoughts were: rice paper, spring or salad?

probably rice paper for me.

re the footy - we're stuffed.

Season is done. Not enough elite talent on the list, and development has stagnated. Would prefer we now use this as a development year for those that we think can step up, and ensure we land a KPP in the draft with a pick between 2-5
