The man has very very rarely got it right when it comes to the AFL. Ill update this as I get round to it. This is all I could get at short notice lol.

Whether he's comparing the tv rights race, to vastly getting the amount of the rights wrong, to stoking the "war", hes the rugby league journalist who writes more about the AFL than many AFL journos.

Ol' Roy is married to the first woman AFL commissioner, Elaine Canty IIRC

Some of the titles, reading them one by one, certainly tell us a story about his head space the past 3 years!!

I used to respect Roy, but some of these articles are just crap. The last three especially. How can he possibly justify that Rugby League clubs use problem gamblers money any better than AFL clubs is just beyond belief.

The GWS Tortoise analogy is straight out of the nuthouse and fails to grasp the approach GWS has elected to take.

The common theme is the eternal hope that the AFL is on the wane and that League is catching up - that's basically what underpins each and every article.

It's pretty ordinary to be honest.

A lot of what Masters does with regards to footy is disguised with tongue-in-cheek humour, i.e. George the tortoise.
You really have to wonder.
I don't think there is another journo like Masters. The volume of his work re AFL points to more than an editorial directive, more a personal crusade, of sorts.
Well, if it all helps him get on in life...
