The Killers- Sam's Town

Only a couple of days till the release

Anyone else excited?

I though Hot Fuss was the biggest cd of 04, and I expect Sam'd Town to be a cracker!!

Re: The Killers- Sam's Town

I love The!

The Killers go alright too. I'll probably get there album

Re: The Killers- Sam's Town

It's leaked.

Not bad. Some good songs, no immediate tracks like the first four on Hot Fuss though.

yeah i've had a brief listen too.. Read My Mind seems to be my early favourite

Bought it yesterday... Quite good, Bones along with Sam's town are probably my 2 favourite tracks along with the obvious early single release of When you were young.

I like #11 - 'Why do i keep counting' the most so far
Also #9 - The list

And the 3 obvious singles are great too, When you were young, read my mind and bones

I think it's fantastic. It doesn't have the instant bang-bang-bang-bang of Hot Fuss, which lets face it, was fairly ordinary after the first 4 or 5 tracks. This is however a lot more consistent. Great album.

I disagree, the last half of Hot Fuss was bloody excellent.

The worst song on Hot Fuss was "Somebody Told Me" and that's saying a lot.

Sam's Town, so far, is good. Hot Fuss was better, but I'm liking Sam's Town, hopefully with a few more listens I'll love it.

Im getting it tomorrow.

Im looking foward to listening to it, but im afraid I will be a litte dissapointed as Sam's Town has a lot to live up to, as Hot Fuss is one of my favourite albums ever.

It doesn't have any massive hits like Somebody Told Me or Mr Brightside, but I agree it's a far more consistent album, and it will grow on you after a few listens.

Loving tracks 1 and 6 especially, but the others are sneaking up on me.

Got it today and am very impressed.

Not quite up to the extremely high standard of Hot Fuss, but im sure it will grow on me after a few more listens.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned #10, this river is wild. I love it!

great cd.

that songs growing on me big time.....

Why Do I Keep Counting remain my favourite...

Theres a real Sgt Peppers feel about the enterlude and exitlude

That people keep naming different songs as the ones that stand out to them is a good sign for this album.

It'll be like hot fuss, which grew on you the more you listened to it, outside of a couple of standout tracks.

good stuff.

Bling is my current favourite, but that seems to change with every listen of the album.

Usually with a new album I listen to a couple of the standout tracks over and over before listening to the rest. In this case, I've listen to the whole thing over and over again. Not one poor track in my opinion. Which is a good sign from my point of view.

And driver 8, you're right about the enterlude and exitlude. Also, the exitlude reminds me of The Office, don't know why...

Just downloaded it yesterday, and it's a definite grower.

Probably my fav at the moment as well - I juust love the conclusion to it.

For Reasons Unknown and Bones are emerging as my favourites along with the obvious Sam's Town and When You Were Young.

Had it for about a week now, and I have come to the conclusion that I love it, which is a fair effort to say the least. It has taken this long to get into it was initially a little dissapointed. The lyrical genious and even the new synths used set it apart from what is popular music today (look at me I'm Guy Sebastian, and I'm a singer ppfftt.) I saw them back last year when they toured (or was it like December 2004), an they owned the stage, so looking forward to BDO (really for them only at this stage). Bling, favourite, followed by The River Is Wild.

GREAT CD by The Killers! Sam's Town is getting better with every listen, the same thing with HOT FUSS,and there is not a dud song on that cd either!............:D

It's being canned by the critics, can't see why. Can't those people just enjoy the music for what it is instead of reading way too much into it?

At first i thought it was Bruce Springsteen when the cd came on, it sounds a lot like him in parts, and the lyrics and themes as well. It's great.
