I am enjoying the mornign glory without billy and all his stupid comments and Geelong bias.

I rekon Mark Allen is good value, i dnt mind the run hom home despite the OX's stupid comments and i love the soap box. Especially one caller who has many alter egos Terrance from Toorak, Bruce from Sydney, Vito from Carlton.

I listen to finey at night and enjoy the tuesday nights with Craig Harper? they do a fitness hour.

yeah its a bit of fun i guess. personally i cringe when terrance comes on, sounds stupid bit each to their own. is terrance the same bloke as the north fan from eltham?

i suspect terrance/bruce/vito would be someone on BF who has many aliases

Richo & Dr Turf really need to take over on a permanent basis. They are enjoyable to listen to, realtively knowledgable in most fields and actually discuss things.

Watson and Maher just spend time talking crap and waffling on about nothing in particular.

patrick smith talking about drugs in cycling.
caller (daniel) rang in and said that its hypocritical that kb/pat (moreso) are having a go at cycling for drugs, yet promote gambling/horseracing. kb said gambling wasnt illegal, daniel said that gambling causes many problems and that if you took gambling out of horseracing the sport would die.

after another call or two they went to a break. after the break kb said that in moderation gambling is ok (which is right). in typical kb fashion (where he brings in examples from everywhere) he even eating is bad for you if not in moderation.

daniel was right in saying gambling causes problems, but was quite aggressive in his approach. to draw a parallel between drugs and gambling was a bit of a reach. i wouldn't expect kb to ever bag gambling as it makes up a fair proportion of the stations sponsorship i guess.

it made me angry listening on tuesday morning when they want to discuss such irrelevant topics, such as "melbourne are starting training today, what do you the melbourne fans want the players to focus on, they'll be listening to us you call in and let us know"

seriously, they only ever seem to encourage callers to discuss and have open topics on AFL, and Watson would routinely bring topics back to AFL, it just grinds my gears.

It's crazy how SEN sacks someone like Bruce Eva, but allows the likes of KB, Patrick Smith and Mark Doran to remain as employees.

Patrick Smith has become the single most annoying person on SEN, closely followed by KB, Mark Doran and Greg Denham.

It doesn't matter so much in this caper if you have a good knowledge of most sports. It certainly helps, but research goes a long way. At the end of the day, you need your listeners to respect you and like you, otherwise you won't get much of an audience.

I'm not a huge MLB fan, but if I were in KB's position, I would be updating my audience what the scores are, considering it's playoffs time. The same goes for when it's NBA playoffs.

pete, I think you just have to accept that SEN knows who its listeners are, and what sports rate on their station. Like it or not, AFL is king in Melbourne by a long long long long way. If they didn't cover it daily, while they may get a few new listeners, they'd lose a hell of a lot more. I think if you look at the sports sections of the HS and Age at this time of year, there's always a 1-2 pages of AFL stories still. SEN's sports content is probably of a similar proportion.

Turf and Richardson sounded fresh and as though they wanted to be there each morning , they even made me feel wide awake at that time of the morning.
But Tim and Andy sound like they need a holiday not that they have just come back from one !
Herald Sun today in the "Pulse " page had an article on SEN winning a big award for its football commentary and coverage.
The article could have finished at that , end of story , but the writer added an extra few lines " its a wonder SEN does so despite those buffoons in the morning "
When the Herald Sun Sports journalists feel strong enough to take a swipe or add a back hander about the main flagship show at SEN and its hosts not being up to scratch then thats a worry .

Good to hear her back on the air.

Casual Fridays is one of SEN's best shows.

Sounds like things got very serious for Rita.

It wasn't the snake bite that did the damage, it was an infection she caught in hospital. Not sure what it was, but apparently, there is a 65% mortality rate for those that get it.
She was in a coma for 5 days.
