Reading the paper this morning and it claims the Who are heading to Australia in 07 with a Perth show included. Where do you think they would perform in Perth? This is the biggest rock group to hit Perth for over 10 years if its true.

Yes i read that also, great news if true! I'm not to sure where they would play though. I also know for a fact that Clapton and Roger Waters have both agreed verbally to come to Perth (seperately), and are being forced to play at Medibank Stadium (Leederville Oval) because Subiaco refused to accomodate them during the rugby season. It's in the early stages at the moment but damn am i fuc*in excited!

P.S. was very dissapointed to read that The Killers are tipped to be headlining the BDO.

I wonder if CSNY may visit soon. On fire over in the US. The Petty/Stevie Nicks combo also working well over there. It would be a first for Perth if any of these combinations would play here.

you know what I mean. biggest as in legendary, in the 70's there were not many bigger, better rock bands, and to even get 2 set to perform in Perth is significant and a win for music. The Eagles were big too and that went over well didn't it. U2 ain't gonna play, they should have had a sook like they did with Coldplay.

Played with Oasis last time they were here.

Well, guys, I saw The Who about a month ago at the Oxegen Festival just out of Dublin ... and they were f*cking magnificent.

I have to admit, I was a little worried prior to the show that Daltrey's vocals were not what they used to be and Pete's ears deteriorated beyond repair. But Roger Daltrey's voice was sensational and Pete Towsend was the genius he has always been. They've also surrounded themselves with a brilliant backing band ... the drummer, of course, not as good as Keith Moon, but a more than useful 'Substitute'.

They played nothing off their new album, stressing that they would just stick to old stuff throughout their set, and would play a return gig in the new year to showcase some newer material.

It was unbelievable to see 70,000 young punters, most of whom were probably not even born when The Who were at their peak, really digging the show just as much as they did the next day when Chilli Willy were on.

Everything you would expect them to play, they played. The main set was about 80 minutes long, with a 25 minute encore, closing with the awesome "Amazing Journey" ... classic.

You're all in for a treat if they head down to Australia for the new year. I'm tipping they'll do the Big Day Out circuit, given the phenomenal response they were getting from festival crowds over here this summer.

Enjoy.

picked up The Who Live In Boston DVD for $10 a couple of weeks ago and when I hit play I was worried about Roger's voice, but it warmed up as the show went on. Loved it and just play it all the time. Pinball Wizard, Amazing Journey, Sparks, See Me Feel Me, Listening to You just carry me away back to the The Who Live at Leeds days (which I also picked up (again) for $10.

Can you believe I actually forgot to go to their last concert in Melbourne in 2004. Woke up on the couch about 9:30 and thought "something's wrong". Then had a huge tantrum.

I bought tickets for their cancelled tour, whatever year that was. I had front row seats A1 and A2, then they cancelled due to poor sales, I think.

Saw them at Festiva Hall 1968, so long ago. I REALLY want to see them again. Promise I'll remember to go this time.

I rather not Big Day Out though.
