I just had one of the most horrific experiences of my Minecraft life.

I was in the double ravine, about to leave, and I had to jump across a one and a half block wide jump to make it across, and I was on 2.5 hearts of health and low food, so I couldn't sprint. As I get to the last block, my mouse dies, and I fall down the ravine, and survive, on half a heart, in complete darkness.

So, using my touchpad to navigate (which is fairly unresponsive), I navigated my way back up to the platforms along the ravine, and got out.

So much win.

Lmfao. the amount of times my mouse died in times of need :( How do you sprint? If I hit shift I just slow down?

Also Chief, cant log on at all now.

Finally built my own Nether portal. Go in, enter this long netherrack hallway of sorts. Go to the end, look around, see lava below me.

Get blown up by a ghast and fall to my death. Thanks.

Yeah, that is the portal I created.

What you want to do is get the x,y,z coordinates of your portal in the main world and divide the x and z by 8. Then get to those coordinates in the Nether and build another portal there. That way the two portals will always go back and forth betweek each other.

As it is, if you went back through that portal you arrived through, you'd eny up in my Netherrack tower.

I need everyone who is interested to read this:

I'm trying to work out how best to set it up - it works with iconomy.

The big issue is taxes. These are designed to eliminate inactive towns/residents and slow the economy. A server I am on gives you 6% interest every 5 minutes you're online which just increases inflation and people end up just bartering.

If you can't pay taxes you are ejected from the town/nation.

So have a look and give your thoughts.

Me, I think about 1% per day and mayors/kings may not withdraw these from the bank.

The other issue is pricing land in towns, but check it out and comment.

If we have a market system then you can sell resources into the market to pay your taxes. This should help keep a lid on resource supplies as well. Keep people actively mining and farming.

Coupled with a big buy/sell price difference - maybe 50% - and money retains its value.

Just had a read, I think 1% sounds good.

RE: Land pricing, I'm not sure what is a lot and what is a little but I reckon buying an 8x8 should be reasonably expensive.
