We have had some pretty outstanding eras at Tigerland in the past 20 odd years, which won (pardon the double entendre) is simply the worst?
1988-1991 - KB 27 wins 61 losses 30.6%
Probably best remembered for bringing the last great crop of young players with Benny Gale, Knighter, Campbell, Lambert and Daffy (I think) to the club and better remembered for the clubs greatest ever dummy spit after being sacked for losing more than twice the games he won over 4 years.
1992 - Alan Jeans 5 wins 17 losses 22.7% and an aneurysm
Best remembered for being perfectly healthy until he coached the Tigers and his brain literally exploded and we nearly lost him altogether
1993-1995 John Northey 32 wins 67 losses at 47.8%
Best memory is the win over the Bombers and twirling his scarf above his head. Almost as well remembered for walking out of the club 2 weeks later.
1996-1997 Robert Walls 17 wins 22 losses at 43.5%
Best remembered for being a Carlton piece of scum who accelerated the decline of our list at a time when it had such potential to be successful
1997-1999 Unleash the Geish 25 wins 49 losses at 51%
Remembered for bringing the huddle to the cheer squad a 3qtr time at the Bulldogs in 1997. Probably got him the job. Almost as well remembered for coaching his last game against the Blues, the scoreboard half burning down and giving Knights and Campbell a decent (unflattering bagging) "farewell speech" at the end of the game on the field.
2000-2004 Danny "Spud" Frawley 45 wins 68 losses at 39%
Best remembered for nearly getting us into finals in 2000 when we looked no good in the pre season and then winning a final in 2001 before a GFC like spiral into the abyss over the following 3 years. Poor bugger, looked a broken man in 2004.
2005-2009 Terry "Leather Face" Wallace 37 wins from 99 games at 37.4%
I will always remember the spin. Does anyone remember the movie "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"? He reminds me of Michael Caines characters. From wearing the tiger tie at his press conference, making the claim of "building our own" and the famous "Pre season" cup when rating individual players pre seasons (nice way to build team harmony), he spun it like Warney.
I did like the win over the Crows at Telsta Dome - a week after losing to the swans (i think ) by 800 points
