We have had some pretty outstanding eras at Tigerland in the past 20 odd years, which won (pardon the double entendre) is simply the worst?

1988-1991 - KB 27 wins 61 losses 30.6%
Probably best remembered for bringing the last great crop of young players with Benny Gale, Knighter, Campbell, Lambert and Daffy (I think) to the club and better remembered for the clubs greatest ever dummy spit after being sacked for losing more than twice the games he won over 4 years.

1992 - Alan Jeans 5 wins 17 losses 22.7% and an aneurysm
Best remembered for being perfectly healthy until he coached the Tigers and his brain literally exploded and we nearly lost him altogether

1993-1995 John Northey 32 wins 67 losses at 47.8%
Best memory is the win over the Bombers and twirling his scarf above his head. Almost as well remembered for walking out of the club 2 weeks later.

1996-1997 Robert Walls 17 wins 22 losses at 43.5%
Best remembered for being a Carlton piece of scum who accelerated the decline of our list at a time when it had such potential to be successful

1997-1999 Unleash the Geish 25 wins 49 losses at 51%
Remembered for bringing the huddle to the cheer squad a 3qtr time at the Bulldogs in 1997. Probably got him the job. Almost as well remembered for coaching his last game against the Blues, the scoreboard half burning down and giving Knights and Campbell a decent (unflattering bagging) "farewell speech" at the end of the game on the field.

2000-2004 Danny "Spud" Frawley 45 wins 68 losses at 39%
Best remembered for nearly getting us into finals in 2000 when we looked no good in the pre season and then winning a final in 2001 before a GFC like spiral into the abyss over the following 3 years. Poor bugger, looked a broken man in 2004.

2005-2009 Terry "Leather Face" Wallace 37 wins from 99 games at 37.4%
I will always remember the spin. Does anyone remember the movie "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"? He reminds me of Michael Caines characters. From wearing the tiger tie at his press conference, making the claim of "building our own" and the famous "Pre season" cup when rating individual players pre seasons (nice way to build team harmony), he spun it like Warney.

I did like the win over the Crows at Telsta Dome - a week after losing to the swans (i think ) by 800 points

Man thats some bad shit...

Gotta feel for KB, having to buy weights from his own pocket cause the club had no money!!! He did a better job than most think, brought in some great players and had no funds to work with.

Wallace had to be the worst, promised the world and delivered nothing. Picked up a few good players for us though, but then again Tambo, Jordy, JON, did some BAD things too...

Although in Walls defense ... I don't think i will ever be as baffled ever again as i was by Andrew Brownes promotion off the rookie list for the opener in rnd. 1 v the blues in 2009 only to be tucked away @ Coburg for the rest of the year ... If That did not signify the purest form of "clutching at straws" i don't know what does

Walls was just 24 carat pure "c..." and i hope he rots in some form of tiger hell where Jack Dyer gives him Kropeks all day and Mick Molloy makes him sniff his dirty jocks for all eternity

Everything between St Francis to when Dimma was appointed has been pretty crap.

Walls, the only thing to be enhanced by his tenure as coach of Richmond, was his reputation as a Carlton man.

can someone fill me in on the bolded parts?

The Bartlett dummy spit was a refusal to have anything to do with the club after his sacking. Even sent his son to pick up his award for Team of the Century inductee. Apparently he feels its was the way it was done as opposed to whether his record warranted it.

The second was that Gieshen was pushed out because of lack of support from leaders Knights and Campbell. Apparently undermined by them and couldnt hold it in any longer after his final game.

Apparently Campbell held alot of sway at the club in the nineties.

i have a lot of respect for richmond fans.......have had every reason to abandon the club the last 30 years yet have stuck by the club although still makes me laugh though when i hear the negativity from the fans but would have to the the least fair weather fans in the comp with possibly essendon being the worst due to them being so used to winning........im actually an essendon supporter but have never been a member in the good years or the lean years

Yeah, i thought Northey's figures were different too. Having said that, bloody ordinary read. I'll vote the Wallace era.

its easy to blame the coaches and while most of em have been ordinary, the real errors stem from a refusal to finance and prioritise the footy dept and in particular recruiting.
the greatest error for me is failure to recognise the importance of the nd and the changing face of how things are done.

I cant think of a single highlight game during Wallaces' era and thats just as damning as his win loss percentage.

I was at the Crows victory at Etihad and went away wondering if I would ever go back to the football. Felt like singing McLeans 'The day that football died'. Watching Raines get uncontested kicks really worked well for the long term didnt it.

Even Frawley and Walls had a few highlight games in there. Admittedly Gieshens were mostly while he was caretaker.

I just wish somehow the past 25 years can simply be wiped from the worlds history books. Bloody abysmal and an entire generation of supporters lost to crapness. It's depressing. Don't want to talk about it.:thumbsd:
