...would be to lose to both Richmond and Collingwood, which is a distinct possibility, and then having Richmond overtake us on the ladder. Please make sure this doesn't occur, Essendon.

If that does happen, which is likely will based on our form imo. Hypothetically where would we finish and would there be any chance of Joe D falling through so we can pick him with second rounder?

...I maaybe clutching at straws for a positive out of this season.

Strange that a few posters who are long time members, but have little posting history, are appearing this weekend.

I've been thinking this myself. A few have been posting on the MB.

i wouldnt really care if we finished below richmond if they finish 9th, because its what they do...

By the reports I've been reading Joe D is rated a top five pick if he wasn't a F/S selection. Even if the worst case scenario happens and Essendon finished 12th there will be several clubs before who will bid on him.

Go to the AFL site and have a play with the ladder predictor, I had us finishing 12th behind Richmond. Carlton and Freo will fight it out for 8th on percentage.

There are no degrees of bad outcome in this case. The season is conclusively over, and the first-round pick is locked away.

The worst possible outcome is some sort of awful injury coming out of dead rubber games.

Yep, trade week/s look like being our most intriguing time of the year.

Though I have a feeling the draft year will turn out to be fruitful for us.
