Dunno how much nip and tuck work she's had done but she has aged REALLY well. I mean, look at this bit of footage from the series reboot episode Mulder and Scully meet the Weremonster;

Having seen here in S1 again, its just incredible to believe they are the same person.

Really wanna watch again from the get go.

"Watching X Files with no lights on"

Ive enjoyed S1 and that was hardly the best season either.

I was only going to watch the Aline Methodology where its a few episodes each season, but figured I may do that another time when I again revisit this series.

The one huge standout for me, is that Mulder and Scully could have really done with a smartphone back in the day lol.

I havent yet seen them use any of the mobile bricks yet, I think that must be in s2 onwards.

Them early 1990's pantsuits and shoulder pads bigger than her head did poor Gillian no justice at all.

Been reading a lot of trivia about this series, the executives didnt want Anderson as she was not "sexy" enough and wanted the two main characters to have a relationship.

And she had to lie about her age to get the part.

Stupid executives, she was sexy then and she's sexy now.

Season 4 had some excellent episodes: 'Home', 'Musings Of Cigarette Smoking Man', 'Tunguska' and my
personal favourite episode 'Paper Hearts' with the great malevolent actor Tom Noonan from 'Manhunter'.
Only at the beginning of S2, while I have forgotten the names of episodes, I still remember a lot. Nevertheless its been good.

Mind you I watch it with a "90s lens" and not from a 2023 perspective. I respect that the show was after all filmed almost 30 years ago.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose is a great ep from season 3. Peter Boyle won an Emmy or some other award for that performance, it was amazing.

X Files was a great series - and I agree that the conspiracy arc was good but ran out of steam / finished really poorly
(a courtroom? pleaseeeeeee)

There was clearly no clear plan on the aliens/conspiracy arc, so it got too convoluted and ridiculous. They were great episodes up to about season 4 or 5, but when it became clear they were just throwing stuff at the wall, it became very frustrating and the standalone episodes stood out much better.

Home is my least favourite episode of all, but I agree with Paper Hearts, it is brilliant and my favourite as well.

Im seriously impressed you guys remember the names of the episodes, gosh I would have no idea what any of them were.

With that said, when I googled the promo for Tungusk and Paper Hearts, I do clearly remember these episodes. Cant believe there is TV promo's of them on youtube.

Having just seen that promo, there is clearly a distinct difference in quality and production of that episode in comparison to S1 and S2.

Worth a look.

A couple of low-production-values episodes early on but it really did build nicely into a great show. Watching it now there are so many actors who went on to do a lot more later on.

Agree, I binged it over the last 12-18 months just about and really enjoyed it. Found a great companion podcast to listen to after I watched each ep that really added to the experience - Scully Nation. Great humour and analysis of the episodes for things I may have missed.
