We could be out of the finals in the first week and I'd still be giving this toast.

We lost Treloar midway through the season, people said we'd struggle without him and we're currently third on the ladder, likely to be 5th by the end of the week but we're third right now.

We lost Dunn then we lost Howe and then we lost Reid and we'd already lost Goldsack and again, probably thought we'd struggle, instead we went into our VFL side and picked out guys like Madgen to fill the spots and guys who get shit on consistently (I do it too) like Tom Langdon went to different levels to cover for the players that were out... this make shift defense, with Madgen/Oxley/Greenwood starting down there today, contained a forward line with Robbie Gray and Chad Wingard roaming around, to 14 scoring shots today.

Guys like Chris Mayne, who was said to be the worst contract in the league, has come in and play an amazing season of football - say what you want about Chris Mayne, the guy has been brilliant for this team since coming back in.

Brody Mihocek looks like he could have solved our need for a key forward going into next season. We haven't had access to Jamie Elliot, Tyson Goldsack and Ben Reid all year (well Reid played a game or 2) and Wells has been injured, we've covered it all with kids and rookie listed guys.

I can deal with not winning the flag this season; this team has heart no other team does. If Richmond lost a quarter of the players we had, they'd be in no mans land.

Look as far as results go this has been a sensational group for us, without any forewarning we have found ourselves with oodles of depth and right up to our eyeballs in the finals.

Bring our best game to Freo and we are top 4 - far from being satisfied with even that simply amazing circumstance I would not be over critical if we went out in two games.

This group has achieved so much more that could have been expected of them, but there is reason to hope that being in genuine contention is not out of the question.

Go Pies!

It has been an amazing season. The experience that we have been forced to give to our depth can be a big plus in 2019 too. I just hope that the club do everything in their power to improve our strike rate at getting something resembling our best team on the park across a season

Perhaps we can now adjust our views on who exactly our best team consist of.

The best player for the role should be the ONLY determinant NOT who has the runs on the board.

We are a club with the playing group in transition - there are those who have been visualized as being first picked for years that have simply been overtaken and others who seem to be incapable of staying on the park.

Best available player for the role and give him all the support we can.

You mean like Friday night, when we had five of our starting 22 out?

Mate, kudos to the pies, they're having a good year, but the real shit, against legit teams, starts in a couple of weeks.

AFL will be creaming themselves...lets hope the pies can keep it going eh?

I hope its Tiges vs Pies first final.

Lol take a look at a REAL injury list you have NFI

Lynden Dunn
Jamie Elliott
Tyson Goldsack
Jeremy Howe
Ben Reid
Matthew Scharenberg
Adam Treloar
Darcy Moore
Daniel Wells

Add to that 3 instances of losing 2 key position players early in games against well credentialed opponents.

It isn't just the injuries, it is games lost due to injuries.

Big deal they had 4/5 out last Friday night.:'(

One game bro.

You nearly lost it too, against a team outside the 8.

Bloody good post mate. Could not agree more.
Even if we were to lose the final 3 games, this year would still be a massive achievement.

First of all get the **** off my board !

With the exception of your snipper captain the others are junk time players!

4 best 22 against a team outside the eight??? My lord, doesn’t even come close to what we are dealing with!

9th have injuries?

Now ya talkin. I'm hoping your rabble make it through to the big one. I am happy your mob have got it together for the first time in decades, will be great to face what was a worthy opponent when I was a kid again.

Kindly **** off and go cream yourself elsewhere. You're lucky you wont get banned like we do for impeding on our board.

Yes managing your players for one week is the same as missing almost half a squad for the better part of a full season.
