This week's ARIA charts...

I don't tend to have a look at the charts anymore but I was rather disappointed to see some of the following in the charts this week:
WHAT CHU WANT
THOIA THOING
RIGHT THURR
IZ U

What has happened to the english language?! Is it that hard to write "What YOU want?" or "ARE you?" Maybe I'm an old fashioned 19y.o but seriously, that's just appalling (and the music isn't much better!)

First of all, I absolutely can't stand the trash populating our charts in recent years.

Secondly, I resent the fact that rather than nurturing our own cultural identity through music, we're (or at least the younger generation) submitting ourselves to a foreign culture whose influences aren't exactly positive. What example is this for our kids?

When the cultural elite stop belitting young Aussie talent (case in point: Delta Goodrem), more kids will be given a go.
