So do you are of the belief that Waters will return home sooner rather than later. Given Port have lost some quality midfielders in the past few years (& particularly some tough ones), I agree that they would be keen to pick up Waters too.theorangeapple said:did i head somebody say waters ???![]()
will you people every give up?
actually, he is home at the moment seeing a SA specialist for his groin. i can imagine he would be very homesick, it would be very hard for him especially after his pre- season form. luckily, you guys are good enough not to get a good PSD pick. that would have been a problem for us IMO.
there seems to be a consensus that we might be willing to trade a midfielder (kerr?) to snare a keyforward. this is based on the assumption that waters/butler will take up any slack. i suppose we could just keep kerr and trade waters, using the reward to get the key forward. worth consideration at least.
as people have mentioned, the positive for us is that port will be in on the bidding this time around. and going by their form, i think they might be in the market for a quality young midfielder. one would have to think a 1st round pick is the starter. it might come down to who has the lower pick out of the 2 SA clubs.

i'll probly say i hurt myself playing state u18s or something
(just so i dont sound like i am ageing prematurely).
macca23 said:As Springchoke said, even if Gibson fails to deliver, we are light years ahead with Thompson for Stenglein. Contrary to Graham Cornes's warped view on this matter, Adelaide are big winners on this one.
Just on whether Waters is home-sick or not, it's far more likely for a young player to feel that way when he's not playing through injury - Waters has OP - and has a lot of time on his hands to think about his family back home.
While it's unlikely to come off, now is the time for a little tri-coloured dickie bird to whisper in his ear "Go home, young man, go home."![]()

outback jack said:we could of put the hard ones on wcoast though and we didnt, cornesy had a valid point. That was the time to get a butler or waters as well as that first round pick. We have been screwed over in sooo many trade deals that this was like the wcarey trade for us, in that we had them where we wanted them and it was up to them to give us what they wanted.
