At the end of the day he still played a pretty good game.

But bloody hell his brain goes into overload at the wrong times. :(
Burton started the game well.. 2 step release , 3 step release. Its when he takes more than 4 steps and starts thinking of what to do with it is the problem.

I know im Pisted but doesnt NC excite you with his courage..drop Welsh for Jericho and it pays off

Have to admit I was calling for Jericho to be taken off early, very weak efforts but he made me eat my words. Great to see.

Thats my two jacks worth.

First 15 minutes of the 1st quarter he ''presented'' :o but to me it seemed a different type to Welsh and Perrie in that it was about finding the pace of the game , not an ''oh well i''ll go for this and see what happens'' , but a genuine desire to make a contest. He found the pace quickly.

Ok...here are some thoughts.

Thompson - I love him :D . He has been a fantastic pick up for us. He is hard, he is tough, he puts his body on the line every time. Once again, last night he was fantastic. Future captain.

Bock - I didn't think he had it in him, but happily he has proven me wrong. He is playing really well and I hope that this is the beginning of a great career for him. Go Chicken Man!

Bassett - I love him too. I have always loved his antics and he puts his heart and soul on the line every time. Go the Mutant Sea Bass!

Goodwin - We missed him soooo much last year. Fantastic to see Goody back in top form. He is amazing.

Roo - No words can describe how good this man is. He is sensational. Best Captain going around.

McGregor - I have always enjoyed Kenneths game. Last night he was once again sensational. Moving him up forward has been trendous. Deserved the applause he got when he came off in the last quarter.

Some players just should not be allowed to go anywhere near the backline. Did some nice things away from there though.
Fair call.

He played OK overall but it was his STUPID mistakes in the back half that got the Bombers back into the game. Overall he was OK but I don't think he makes the best 8 players.

As always his work rate was first class. Just keep him out of the backlines.

I put Burton in my best because he had a lot of the ball and did the job when up forward.

Sure, he's a bit wasteful at times, but I found him pretty important on the wing going forward.

Why does this happen only when we are playing well. My main concern is that it doesnt happen when either the game is in the balance or we are not in front. Reminds me of the who crowd how early they were cheering but when the bombers started their charge in the second stanza they went quiet.

Most are front runners as said earlier.

Well - I think a mexican wave when the game's in the balance is a bit disrespectful and would be a sign of having a bunch of theatregoers instead of footy fans at a game. Folsk do it when we're miles in front because they're happe.

Boy, I hope this doesn't catch on ...

This was the best game I have seen us play in years. I walked away from the Carlton game thinking what a load of ******** AFL has become. Not this week. It was a magnificent game to watch. Both teams short be congatulated for the type of footy they tried to/did play.

Just a great game to watch & a great game from all the boys.

Im talking mainly about barracking for your club when its crunch time.
There's a difference between being a supporter and a barracker.
We had 43000 supporters there but about only 1000 barrackers, spot there difference?

I think that was due to the fact that Burton got so much of the footy. It's just what he does with it when he gets it. Seems to get a rush of blood to the head.

Hart made worse mistakes than Burton

Burton was terrific. The perfect link man role. And he gets forward and back to help out. One major blunder but its all part of the package.

Hudson was very good but Hille was easily their best player as well, as they seemed to be nowhere near each other most of the night.

I have got to say Hudson has been a revelation for the AFC, and in ruckman that have played would be up there with Rehn, Pittman, Clarke and defintely better ruckman than Biglands.

His workrate around the ground, his abilty to tap the ball to advantage is amazing, well done Hudo ;)

I won't be giving votes this week as its too hard to do. But some thoughts on a few of the palyers. :)

McGregor – one out of the box. Contested marks, hard running, straight kicking, assists, a goal on the left from 48 metres – great game.

McLeod – as one who has marked him hard in the past I thought he was awesome. Hard running from start to finish, and his body language was excellent. His best game for some time.

Bock – compare this game to his effort in the SANFL grand final and you would think they were different players. Ran really hard and created well out of the backline. Definitely looks to be a defender to me and not a forward.

Hudson – more than 20 posessions was testament to his workrate and effort. His tap outs and clearance work are outstanding. Finally Craig has left both rucks on at the same time rather than rotate them mechanically after 15 minutes of each quarter. Would be tempted to play Clarke as well when he is fit.

Burton - perfect link man game. Ran hard in both directions and used the ball really well. One bad blunder in the back pocket, but you can accept that with all the other great stuff he does.

Perrie – came off the bench to great effect as the third forward. If we can use him in this role he will be very handy.

Goodwin – another super consistent game with some great goals to top it off. Would be leading the B and F and be our only All Aussie candidate at this stage.

Ricciuto – some of his field kicking was awesome. Passes to Jericho lace out were great and he set up a couple of goals for Goodwin as well.

Thompson – he is the best kick of the ball off his non preferred side since Jarman. Some of his left foot passess were awesome to watch. Black mark was giving that free away when we were 94 points up!!! :D

Rutten – pretty good job on Lloyd, who for mine spart the dummy in the second half and was hardly even trying.
