from 1950-2000 they averaged 3.2 per year.
since 2000 they averaged 4.5 per year.
prior to 1985 an average of 1 in 7 years was hurricane free.
since 1985 there has not been a single hurricane free year.
but yeah, nothing has changed - so nothing needs to change
