Fremantle
Ben Bucovaz (Fremantle)
Brock O'Brien (Fremantle)
Tim Ruffles (Fremantle)
:thumbsu:

All good except BOB. He just isn't going to make it so I don't know why he's being persisted with.

he is rated but just constantly struck down with injuries - very unlucky

Injuries are why I don't think he'll make it.

Even so, fully fit, IMO we'd have to be hit hard by injury for him to crack a game in the seniors. How old is he at the start of next season? 23?

not sure but yeah he'd be something like that, if he was fully fit and a preseason behind him i think he could become a solid hard at it player who gives 100% kind of in the mould harvey likes. He won't ever be a superstar but i think we like the chance that he could definitely become best 22 worthy from a rookie

BOB is just awful.

Can't even cut it at WAFL level when fit.

He has had two very good games at afl level suggesting that the talent is there, having said that im wouldn't rookie list him purely because of his injury history. Harves loves him though, and harves has been rarely wrong in the last couple of years

Some players just need to be let go due to their AWFUL injury run. When the Pies were at the bottom of the ladder they redrafted Lee Walker in 1998. A very talented player who had 4 total knee reconstructions but was so prone to injury that he never played again. The Pies were desperate for a player that could do everything, Lee had amazing size, skill and determination. All that unfortunately counted for naught when injury meant that he was unable to play another AFL game.

Was it all a waste of time re drafting a player that had such bad luck with injury that he could barely get out on the park? I think that it is, you need talent that is going to develop and be available. Mundy is a perfect example of that. He has been a constant in the side after being drafted and has turned into one of our most important players. BOB has a truckload of more talented players in front of him and he is not even able to play WAFL at the level to be considered for selection.

BOB I am sorry, it is time to make way for a young player that is fit, healthy, skilled and determined to make it at AFL level. I suggest that we look at J.Blight who was delisted from the Pies this year. Fast, skilled and probably ready to return to WA. He would have been very well coached and may certainly be missing home. He has the potential to become a good sized midfielder and he is still just 19!

Looking forward to everyones thoughts.

Calm down. They are just training with us. They are not back on the list. There is no obligation to pick them up.

As long as Timmy gets on the rookie list I'll be happy

Agreed. Don't much care about the other two but I've taken a real shine to Timmy.

Spaghetti strength knee tendons aside he's got some fantastic traits you look for in a player and it would be a massive shame if he isn't given another chance.

That said I'm 90% confident the club will give him another go anyway.

Which games were these?

his debut was very good considering the circumstances, he got towelled up by wonaeamirri in that horrible match but then i'm pretty sure he played okay against them back at subi later that year

The "Wonaemirri incident" wasn't his debut.

His debut was against Port in Adelaide IIRC and he was very impressive. That was his only good game at AFL though.

Would like to see us commit to Timmy first out of those lads. Feel we owe it to him. Hope it doesn't mean we lose Buco though, showed a bit with the Sharks towards the end of the year. BoB - meh.

You just didn't interpret what i wrote right i should've said it differently.

I meant that his debut against port was very good, and the circumstances i was referring to meant debuting against the second best team, away from home after 6 players had been suspended and with us still having a possibility (albeit very slim) of playing finals.
Then i referred to that melbourne match :( in which he got 4 kicked on him i think?
And then i was referring to when we played them again at subi later that year (i'm pretty sure) and i think he played okay.

My bad. :D

In regards to what everyone else has said its probably fair to say he shouldn't be given another chance seeing as he's had a few years now - its just a pity he didn't get a real shot.

Fairly confident that the Weagles would have him by then. If we want him we'd need to get him in the ND IMO.

Maybe he could be in the mix for our final ND pick (72) or our PSD pick if we mis out on Anthony. Does seem to have been highly rated after his first year at Collingwood before a case of homesickness got the better of him in 2010. I agree though West Coast would be looking at him for an early Rookie pick.

Agree, V Adelaide and again against Melbourne. Really had an influence. Can play. Hope Ruffles makes it.

Hi from India peeps!

Ruffles for sentimentaliy purposes - but does he give us anything??
He's what 20-21 and has had both knees done and apparently a family history of these things, i'd almost cut him loose now.

The Weagles will focus on recruiting a mid-paced midfielder with developing skills..
