Throat Singing

Hey guys, last night I saw Dylan Lewis (ever wondered where he went?!) and his band Brown Hornet - and he knows how to throat-sing.

He's the second person I've seen do this in that last week -

Can ANYBODY tell me how to do this? It's the coolest thing I've ever heard and I need to learn. I understand how it works, but no one can explain to me how you actually learn to do it.

are you talking about singing harmonics or falsetto or what?

Singing with overtones, so you get two or more sounds produced at once.

If you want to hear some amazing tantric chanting/throat singing forget Dylan Lewis..... check out the Gyuto Monks of Tibet. I was lucky enough to experience an awesome "concert" performed by the monks when they stayed on the Mornington Peninsula a year or so ago. The sounds that the Grand Chantmaster Lobsang Tsering was able to produce were absolutely mindblowing - like nothing I've heard before.

As far as I know the Monks are staying on the peninsula again in the next few months. I really recomend anyone and everyone to check them out, I certainly won't be missing it!

Seen the Gyuto Monks a few times, and heard the chanting, absolutely incredible!
